hi.

can anyone recomend me a footswitcher that can switch between guitarpedal-effects. I need one that I easily can controll instead of having to turn on and of each pedal I have. I want something that can handle about five pedals.

like when I want to play with a distortion pedal and a chorus-pedal at the same time and want to turn them on at the same time.

You mean like an effects processor? If so try a digitech….it has about 5/8 banks for any combo of sounds…at least the one I’ve tryed. The RP1, it was great but it had no fan…the later models came with. But they have others that look pretty good.

No I have several pedals I like to use. But I was wondering if I can connect them to a unit that can controll all singel one of them. A switch-unit that can put on two or more pedals at the same time by pressing a button. it´s quite stressing having to turn off one pedal and at the same time turn on two others. I know J mascis has some sort of switching board in front of that he use to change from a pedal to another.

You mean like a Pete Cornish or Bob Bradshow switcher? Then I know what you mean. Ummm. . .those things are pricey and usually require that all of your pedals be put in rack drawers. If you have a switcher where you need only need to turn two pedals on all of the time (I.e. you always turn on an eq and a distortion simotaniously) you can use a Boss psm powersuppply pedal, which has a built in effects loop. otherwise you are looking at a MINIMUM $300 investment for a device like a switchblade midi unit, which is basically a patchbay with a device for turning loops on by MIDI. THis is really pricey however, especially when you consider rack units, rack drawers, a pedalboard, etc.

There ought to be a pedal out there that switches from one output to another. If not, it should be easy to build one at radio shack if you have the gumption. Or, buy a tuner pedal that switches between amp and monitor. Connect your pedals to one switcher output and leave them all on. Either y-connect your 2 switcher signals back together or plug into your 2 amp inputs if you got em. Make sense? Then your switcher turns your pedal chain on/off.

Haven’t tried the ebow more than a couple of minutes, but I understood the basics of what it does. I’ll see if I can try it some more one day and try with different effects under it..
