im going to try this out, but i do not know exactly what i should be downloading off the mirror sites or the ftps. im unfamiliar with these files and if anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be cool. <img>
I am going to try a FBSD or OBSD after I get my Solaris 9×86 on the network. Damn Linksys 100 not supported out of the "box".. Of course, I need at least one more hard drive, and drive sled for the removeable drive bays I have.
the way i do it is have a local web or ftp server with the linux/freebsd install files in a directory, boot the laptop with the floppy image and do either the ftp or web install. works great everytime if the box detects your nic.
image floppies are great for pcmcia or pci nics
