Free so Free is now available in Australian stores!
that’s what J’s Australian label Dew Process says about it:
Quote:Seminal guitar genius, J MASCIS (ex Dinosaur Jr) returns with his latest solo album, FREE SO FREE. the new J MASCIS + THE FOG album features the radio single, Everybody Let’s Me Down and comes with a BONUS T SHIRT at SELECTED STORES!The selected Australian stores are listed on their website, … so go, & get it

(does this work via mail, too?
)March 17, 2003 at 7:42 pm #92025Here’s a little more info I found on the Dew Process site…
Quote:Mark Rae & J Mascis heading down under in May…Just thought I’d add that
March 18, 2003 at 2:10 pm #92026Thanks for the addition, sonic death

…would be interesting to find out if it just means, that Mark Rae and J & the Fog are touring in May in Australia or if they will be on the road together
March 19, 2003 at 5:13 am #92027Wonder who the bass dude will be? It would be megacool if it was Watt.
The man is a legend in his own right. Cant think of any musician who gigs as hard!
His tour itinerary’s read like a… well I dont know what really, just bloody ridiculous doing that many gigs in that many days!
If J & or manager etc reads these and are worried about venues I can give some tips for NZ! There are a large number & variety of venues here but some of them just wont suit the band or else wont be able to hold the right number of punters!
Don’t make the mistake Bob Mould did and have it at the Kings Arms in Auckland, not that it’s a bad venue just too small!:wink:Amazing how whenever you buy an import CD it gets released locally with a sweetener! Damn!
Oh well I have had the album for a few weeks now and it’s been on high rotate for me!
Cheers
March 19, 2003 at 5:38 am #92028Hey to all you folks DownUnder,
I don’t mean to burst any bubbles, but I’m fairly certain that the tour of which you’re speaking of is a J solo affair. That is to say, I haven’t heard anything about it from J, and if we (that is, the band) were coming along I think that we would have to be getting our work visas in order by now. As for the issue of Watt, he has been replaced by Matt Hunter on bass for the most recent tour that we’ve just completed. I understand that people love Watt, but all of the feedback that I’ve received indicates that Matt has more than adequately filled his shoes. (And sweaty ones, they are!)-George-
