cool song. I was kind of worried when I heard J was going to have a song called freedom. It’s interesting to hear J do a really simplistic lead (dare I saw Sebadoheque). And the dancy beat is a departure too.

So two tracks in we already see a different Mascis. Gone are the rather ‘formulaic’ song constructions and instead there is a playfulness and unexpectedness. I’m not sure what I think about the rather odd way the tempo suddenly increases in both songs, for a few seconds it sounds like a mistake and the ‘tape’ has suddenly gone wrong. But it’s interesting and no one wants J to remake the same tracks again and again

the song is growing every time I’m listening to it. It’s way not that simple as it appers on the first listen, many things to discover, very catchy guitar tune & I like the repetitiveness of it, too <img>

Thanks a lot for the link. Reminds me of Feel the Pain sort of. I heard Tell the Truth and was like ‘gee it sounds pretty average for him'(average being great, but still)…but this is much more impressive.

Smart song thanks for the link <img> , like flying cloud said its growing each time, i wasnt sure at first with the strange tempo of it but listened to it a few times and really like it. Like the drums and the vocals guitar parts all works together reallly greeaat, *claaaps* for J <img>

Hey there, Everybody (this is my first time here, hence the fORMAL INTRODUCTION…)!
‘Flying Cloud’ is right indeed, "Freedom" is a song that needs time to grow, and when it’s fully grown up, it’s awesome! Plus if you turn it up real loud, you can hear J coughing at the end of the track(I’m serious!)… Be prepared for greatness when the album comes out and also keep your eyes open for the supercool video for "Everybody Lets Me Down", which features multiple J’s, a girl with glasses and – if I remember right – a very "special guests" (he’s blond and "controversial").

Hey, maybe the "strange" rhythm of "Freedom" is a long term result from watching too much "Punk Rock Aerobics"… And, Jeremiah: no hairsplitting intended, but if that’s really Bob at the end of the song then he’s the most human-sounding dog I’ve ever "encountered" ;-), although you’re definitely right about his nice guest appearance on the "More Light" album!

I just picked it up earlier today, got the whole song no problem. I did the right click, save as deal on the link, not sure if that makes a difference or not but good luck…the song is amazing!!!
