Lou on Loobiecore:

Quote:
he’s in a 3 month program in LA… i’ll visit him when i get back and see how he’s doing..
the rehab is to save the band, or his involvement in it.. not sure what j’s plan would be if murph bails altogether.. he showed up for this tour completely out of it and emaciated , we felt we had to act sooner than later ..

I’ll send him a laptop if it meant he’d log in here once in awhile and interact with us. Lou is transcribing lyrics and breaking down financials of the band over there at Loobiecore. It’d be nice to get J’s side of things.

At this point, I’d settle for Kyle ("J’s chosen one on drums") or Noel in here giving us updates. Seems like Lou is the voice of the band facing the Internet Any man that made a song mocking ‘Thumb’ is a man that I’m looking at with a squinted eye. It’s rather well documented he hates J’s lyrics and is an "employee" of J’s. I just think a lot of us would really like to get the info directly from J. When Lou tells people J makes 50% and that he and Murph make 25% each I wonder what use that has to offer other than to stir up trouble….

I mean in a way it’s ultra awesome that Lou is interacting with his side of the fence but I take it all with a grain of salt. It really would be nice to hear thingsupdates from J directly. I’m a dreamer huh?

Oh and get well Murph!

what, you think Lou is making shit up to "stir up trouble" ? Give me a fucking break. What other "side" is there ? Do you think Lou is lying when he says that J gets 50 % (I think it’s less now, BTW) ? He’s said from day one that he was grateful to be back a part of Dinosaur and the one he felt was getting screwed was Murph, not him. And I happen to agree with Lou about the lyrics on "Farm" — they are total and utter shite.

Frankly, I don’t think J gives a flying fuck about anyone on "his" forum or feels that he owes anything to anyone.

Its a fair point, Just because J does not blog about his life doesn’t mean everything Lou says is gospel.
I love Lou’s forum and the way he interacts with people, But if you take everything from one side then thats a little myopic…

Let me try this again:

Hey you know what would be great? If J posted in here!

A few weeks ago I met up with someone who had just spent some time with the band…I asked "How’s it going…give me all the skinny." and the first thing that was said was "Murph is the walking dead" I was surprised…I didn’t come here to gossip then but I see now the cat is out of the bag…

Hey, hot discussion here but I’m too busy to write much more…and I want to… maybe later tonight!

big LOL, sure he cares….he’s super sensitive… I heard once (on an episode of the New Adventures of Winnie the Poo)…that a person who cares too much can come across the same as one who doesn’t care at all.

He has his moon in the sign of Cancer he’s practically parallelized by care.
I always thought of J as being humble enough to spend some time close to the floor, in prayer..
"God bless Annastefka, God bless Tom-in Chicago, God Bless Girl, King Tubby, Robert and SG…God bless Tonas and Murph and Lou and Noel"…. and on and on until he falls into a deep restorative sleep. :D…

Sorry that I came across so agressively, but it seemed like Chicago_Fog was implying that there’s a whole new "J vs. Lou" thing going on when that couldn’t be further from the truth.

That said, Murph has some major issues and hopefully a 90 program will help him improve. I’m sure it was very hard for them to do what they did and odds are that manager Brian S. was making all the arrangements behind the scenes so he most likely deserves a lot of credit as well. Dino is kind of a "family" now, really.

At least he didn’t end up on "Intervention" or "Dr. Drew".

This aggression will not stand man

I think Lou got the hate out of his system, the J bashing was a long time ago now and he said another reason for rejoining Dino was to make up for all that negative energy. Besides wasn’t the 50% comment with regards to creative input? I’d say that’s pretty accurate. I get the impression that for Lou the golden age of J’s Lyrics was back when they were a lot younger/more anxious/paranoid/confused etc. Now a lot of what he was singing about isn’t going on around him it makes sense that the lyrics are different. I sort of like how J’s lyrics are… sort of vague, he’ll be talking about something but not stating outright what it is, then he’ll come out with a line that could be about anything but to you it just hits home about something… I just think there’s a lot more to them than hits the ear. Maybe J’s reluctance to discuss lyrics, theme’s etc ("…the themes are the same. What themes? y’know… chicks… let’s talk about the string section…) has contributed to the perception that they’re of little importance along with his ‘there have to be lyrics ‘cos there has to be singing’ thing but it seems like there’s more to them than that.

I think I read an interview where J talks about ebay and I imagine the articles he’s written weren’t hand written on the back of an envelope and sent through the post. Who knows, maybe he’s a lurker.

I agree it would be super cool to have J post on here and wish Murph the best luck over the next three months.

you think J lets Lou & Murph have 50% creative input ? I think even from the beginning J has asserted waaaay more than that. Lou has *some* creative input outside of his tunes but Murph basically has zero.

In all the remarks about money Lou has made on his forum, there’s never been anything negative about them. Someone asked him about the breakdown; he gave it; the Lou brown-nosers on there (and there are quite a few) started getting all up in arms about what a jerk J is; Lou set them straight, saying that he agreed to the deal, that it’s ultimately J’s band, with mainly J’s songs, and that Dino wouldn’t have the profile it does had not J maintained the band and increased its fan base the way he did after Lou left. He’s content to tour and record and play the music and get off on the live energy, as he realizes what a unique thing the three of them have. Totally uncontroversial, totally adult.

It’s a real shame about Murph, though. He’s got to be feeling really shitty at the moment.

I reiterate… Love you Murph. Take care of yourself. Dinosaur is not the same without you.
All this J/Lou stuff is so fucking tired… I’m over it.

Honestly, the way Dinosaur portrays themselves in media sometimes (with J and Lou disliking each other and whatnot), I think they almost play up to it because it’s part of their whole vibe and aura. I think it can be hyperbolic sometimes, but no one except the guys themselves can really say for sure.

I like the Lou forums. I think most of the people there are cool, and there’s usually some interesting discussions. My only gripes lie in the fact that the majority of the people who post are Lou fanatics, and sometimes feels like everything he does is gold/perfect, which obviously isn’t true. They can also accept the brief answers or comments Lou gives as complete fact, when obviously there’s much more to the stories than what might be let on. But Lou himself is cool. Definitely mellowed out, though I still think sometimes he comments about how awkward it is with J, how J doesn’t like bass, etc etc because it’s part of the job, as mentioned above….

But these are tangent topics. I really hope Murph gets better, for his sake.

It’s a lovehate relationship.
I stick by my comments. I’m not respnding to people missing my points and responding to things that I may have "implied."

Go have a nuclear meltdown, off-topic over something that may have been "implied"
somewhere else.

Don’t try to educate me on the LouJ interactions. I’ve been living it since ’92. I am fully aware of the dynamic.

I don’t see what value it adds to even talk about it. That’s my point. That’s it and that’s all.

Really? There’s nothing that’s been negative over at Loobiecore? You might want to go read it:

OH, that’s not too negative…that’s just gentle grumping.
I don’t know too much about it since both my husband and I have type "C" personalities…type "C" is even more chill than "B"…but there has been some negativity over the years…Negativity usually manifests by not being able to even get a full sentence out without dropping the "F" bomb or pulling out one of my favorites like "putting up with your Bullsh*t".

A few years ago we had an "I’m done" spoken out loud….So I used the one liner that was making the rounds…"Dude, I’ll hold the door open so it doesn’t hit you on the way out…cause hopefully you be leaving with some of your crap…so I know you will need an extra hand."

he told me…"Uhhh, I’m not leaving….this is my house" there you go…he had dinner waiting on him when he came home…..that’s not negative, that’s just grumping."
