Gettin' Rough on Guitar

I know it’s played on a banjo but can anyone better at guitar than me help to transcribe it to guitar. I can’t find any tabs of it anywhere online. I’ve found that you can get a similar sound with the capo on the 9th fret with something like this (disclaimer: not guaranteed to be remotely correct):

It sounds like the third fret on the low E could be played along as well along with a bunch of other finger picking that I can’t pick out.

I’m awful when it comes to trying to play by ear so if anyone can help I’d really appreciate it. It’s an awesome song and I’d love to be able to play it.
