every month mojo prints a list of ten things … this month it’s bands who beat eachother up  + both dinosaur jr + the stooges are mentioned …

the stooges They were only having a laugh, but it still hurt. One night at LA’s English Disco in August ’74, Third Reich fanboy Ron Asheton got togged up in Nazi gear (he had 16 different outfits :o), stood on top of Iggy + proceeded to whip him good. Iggy had already slashed his chest up with a steak knife; some party.

btw, there’s a photo of ron stomping on a bloody iggy :o  :o

dinosaur jr Festering antipathy would periodically erupt between frontman J Mascis + drummer Murph. Grapple fans can see live footage of J trying to club Murph w/his guitar in Sonic Youth’s Teenage Riot video. J didn’t get on w/bassist Lou Barlow either, but no film of them attacking eachother is thought to exist.

Thanks for the story rambleon! Though I’ve allways thought that J attacking Lou was the most known incident in dinosaur.
For more stooges mayhem I’d suggest you read the brilliant "please kill me" if you haven’t allready.

Oh you really should read it!! :D
It’s about the "punk movement," lots of cool interviews with anybody that was anything during those fucked up and brilliant years! Stooges, MC5, Ramones, Dead Boys etc etc.
