Quote:FN: You’ve certainly had some loud rigs. You had to, with Blur once touring with bands such as My Bloody Valentine, Dinosaur Jr. and Ride.
GC: I have had the pleasure of standing onstage during a Dinosaur Jr. sound check. And that’s (expletive) loud! Jesus! They didn’t even play a song; they just made noise (laughs)! But that was one my favorite bits ever, of my whole career. That was in ’92.FN: Are you a fan of (Dinosaur Jr. guitarist/singer) J Mascis?
GC: Yeah, I love Dinosaur Jr. I love the soloing, the launching into this pretty out-there stuff.FN: The original Dinosaur Jr. is back together …
GC: Yeah. I’d love to see that. I did this whole “Rollercoasterâ€July 5, 2007 at 11:36 pm #130528Man I horribly hate blur. everything they have ever done is so annoying. I used to hang out with this kid who only listened to them, man i heard all there stuff so much. I really can’t stand them.

July 9, 2007 at 3:38 pm #130531I was never a fan of Blur, but If you’ve not checked out Graham Coxon’s solo material, do it now. In my opinion, Happiness in Magazines is definitely the best place to start.
July 9, 2007 at 3:39 pm #130532…paying particular attention to Spectacular and Freakin’ Out.
July 9, 2007 at 4:44 pm #130533In my mind, Graham was always less annoying than Damon Albarn
February 27, 2008 at 10:36 am #130534Blur can be pretty annoying but Graham Coxon is a truly great guitarist, no question about it. Any fan of J should be able to apreciate the guy plus he’s not been with Damon and the rest for years.
Incidentally, I saw the Rollercoaster tour in Brighton and My Bloody Valentine were frighteningly loud. It was awesome, people were leaving presumably because of the pain.
May 20, 2009 at 4:12 pm #130535Saw ’em at Brixton on this tour – really good idea very badly executed! Rotating line up every night , night I went Dinosaur on first (at about 7pm!), then Blur, then MBV, then J&MC. Just imagine how out of place Blur sounded (“one of the kids is doing his own thing!) they sounded like Wham
MBV had the worse sound of all time with the vocals WAY up. Pretty much the whole of the (4,000) audience left the auditorium for the outside bar when they did Realise.Dinosaur blew the other bands away (which nobody at all expected – they were not IN then) as they weren’t touring an album they pretty much played all of YLAOM.
May 20, 2009 at 4:16 pm #130536To add, there was also a promo CD for the tour which I won on good-ole GLR (more corrupt than the Blears). I’ve just dug it out and it’s got a great live version of “The Post”. Don’t know when or where it’s from the booklet just says “recent American tour”.
May 21, 2009 at 1:15 pm #130537This little acoustic tune is pretty pleasing:
