Hey guys great comminity! Anyways, Dinosaur Jr. fan since ’93. I’m only now getting into the older stuff (before Green Mind) as I just ordered Dinosaur and Bug. But, I’m such a huge DJ fan, well J really (man, the guy can JAM), that I can’t wait to get my hands on some new material. And yeah, I one of only three or four people in the entire state of Arkansas that’s even heard on Dinosaur Jr.- nice to share with like minded people. J’s playing is just so inspirational to me. Thanks for listening.

I lived in Russellville in ’87-’88, and saw quite a few great gigs in Little Rock and Fayetteville. Since punks were so few and far between (literally) down there at the time, people were really committed to it and would travel long distances to hang with like-minded folks (like me and a couple friends, who would regularly drive up to 3 hours just to see a gig). My favorite show moment was when Dag Nasty played the basement of an armory in Fayetteville and a couple of cowboys showed up to start shit with the punks. They had the hats, the boots, the mustaches — the works. After about half a song of these pricks shoving people around in the pit, the crowd suddenly massed together, picked these jerkoffs up of the ground, carried them to the door, and threw them out. It was sweet. The band were laughing so hard they had to stop the song and start up again after they composed themselves.
Yup, hillbilly’s don’t take lightly to punk riff- raff crowding out their honky tonk shows. Saw DRI on the hill in the 90’s, Mudhoney ,too. L-O-U-D-N-E-S-S personified. My ears are still ringing a decade later.
Saw Wilco a recently at Cain’s in Tulsa. OH. MY. GOD. Or should I say, OH. MY.JEFF.TWEEDY. Is this guy human?
