Rich, who are all in the band now? Slash isn’t back is he? The last interview I saw, he said there was no fucking way he’d EVER work with Axle again. If he’s not I don’t see how they can possibly rock like they did before. Although I will definitely keep an open mind about it!

Well, if you don´t know by now, I think Guns´n´Roses are just, well, silly really. Nevertheless, this gives me the opportunity to bring Silverfish to your attention. As you probably don´t know, or care, their first (and best) album was Fat Axl. And this title came about, because some hack from the Melody Maker (R.I.P.) had described Leslie (the singer with Silvefish)in some mean gig review as a fat Axl Rose. Well, the band found this funny enough to name their next record accordingly. And it´s such a gem. Steve Albini was involved to some capacity. Give it a listen.

You may be right. Maybe people start to miss em a little. Here in europe MTV’s playing November Rain all the time. I don’t really mind, I kinda like Slash’s solo’s. Hate Axl’s voice tough.

Exactly. Axl Rose is like Kurt Cobain’s Evil Brother in the world of music. The fake one, the one with no talent, the one who can’t sing.

To me guns and roses represent all that was wrong with music. I have a friend who likes them a lot though. Sweet Child of Mine is their only song I kind of like.

Well i know a lot of you dont like Gnr, but they were a great band they had a lot of talent and could right some damn good songs the new band consits of Robin Fink from NIN, Bucket head, Tommy Stinson from the replacments, and two other guys,
Axl and Dizzy Reed are the only guys left from the bands hayday

                      Hey,

I am with a couple of people above in regards to GNR…definitely not for me but hey glad you guys like it. Stinson from the Replacements in GNR, quite the change of pace to say the least, really shocked me that one.

                      Allison

ps GNR did one of the worst covers of a Johnny Thunders tune in the history of the world in my opinion….You Can’t Put Your Arms Around A Memory on the spaghetti incident check out the original if you can.

You guys are cracking me up!! G&R inspires a love/hate thing in me– they are sexist and dirty and stubborn but any time their music comes on the radio I crank it & do my best to match Axl’s voice note for screeching note. In other words, I listen to them but would not date them.

There was a magazine cover a while back that said "What the World Needs Now is Axl"; a friend of mine had it silkscreened onto a t-shirt. Not because he was a huge G&R fan but because it really summed up the music situation of the late-90s.

Axl did the backing vocals on a Don Henley album. And that about sums it up. Kids in our school that liked them pretended to drink Jack Daniels, had posters of guns and terrible belt buckles with such profound poetry as "I’ll give up my gun when they prise it from my cold dead fingers" thereon. I don’t think many of them went as far as the skintight lycra shorts or bandana. No, I tell a lie, one of them did. He’s a policeman now – God help us.

Hah! Now that I’ve got $100 million to splash around, I’ll be making a few improvements.

Rosa is right when Spin magazine came out with the cover of axl and the quote "What the world needs now is Axl Rose" after Rap hit mainstream, music has gone downhill so much, Guns N Roses was the last big rock band (I dont count Nirvana because they were anti rock and so i dont fight with myself over which band is better) the old GNR had Great song writers and great musicians, and the new one has axl rose and even better musicians, what axl has done is taken musicicans from all rock genres and used them and it sounds great in the band,

so hate them if you will but GNR will be great forever in my mind

guns n roses (axl rose) did exactly what he wanted, when he wanted and how he wanted! he put the music that he wanted to put out, not what the record company or critics wanted. they may represent all that is wrong with (main stream) music but it is a hell of alot better than korn or limp bizshit! and there new line up is stacked with GREAT musicians.. idon’t think axl is fucking around after… let’s see 8 years!and besides, how many bands wish they can have 3 solos in song.
