Luckily nearly no overlap with Do the Pop!, a compilation that is always near to den Buck’s cd-player!
February 26, 2003 at 4:05 pm #85353Bad news about Bob Moulds new release Body of Song, apparently not coming out until…
Reported that he wants to make sure all the songs are perfect, apparently not there yet, after the last one he put out-modulate-I can understand the dilemma
Good news is he will be putting out a live disc in the spring with some of the new songs on it :aliensmile:March 13, 2003 at 1:27 pm #85354I`m getting the new Bettie Serveert album from SS right now but it`s slow downloading

Link did`nt work

It`s a new album by Daniel Johnston with Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse.
March 19, 2003 at 9:54 am #85356Hey, I got "Fear Yourself", it kinda reminds me of "Fun", Daniel Johnston’s 1994 Atlantic album, in that it is very much "produced" (don’t be fooled by the intro…), but it rocks more. Mark Linkous produced and arranged it, so it’s very polished. I’d say it’s a great album, though not Daniel’s best – I very much like the early "records", or rather tapes, like "Don’t Be Scared", but I think the songs also work when properly recorded. There’s a real cool thing Dean Ween said about D.J.: "Most Songwriters would have given anything to have written one song as good as any Daniel Johnston tune, and he has hundreds.". And there is quite some proof for that on "Fear Yourself"!

March 19, 2003 at 3:41 pm #85360German amazon just sent me an email to inform me about a preorder offer for the Evan Dando record … heh! how do they know what I would possibly like?!
:aliensmile:For the Germans here: there’s also the possibility to preorder the new White Stripes album
March 20, 2003 at 9:39 am #85361Hey, for all you waiting for the new Evan Dando album: You can listen to a track here: http://www.intro.de”>http://www.intro.de. That’s the website of one pretty good german music mag. The song ("Stop my Head") is one of the 3 or 4 more uplifting ones on what overall to me sounds like the most "heratbroken" Dando-record ever. Strange, since he got married not so long ago, and had J & The Fog (or as he put it "Fuckin’ The Fog") play at his wedding, where he sang "Severed Lips" w/ them. There are some nice songs on the record, anyway, and it’s nice to know he’s back. The White Stripes record has an awesome song featuring Holly Golightly on it! Definitely worth the wait…[/url]
