Quote:ERIC BACHMANN
To The Races (DUE 08.22.06)
His first Saddle Creek release is an unadorned and unapologetically forthright collection of songs. Whereas Eric Bachmann’s 2005 effort with Crooked Fingers, Dignity And Shame, was his most poppy and immediately accessible album, this one is his most sparse and reflective. Eric’s warm vocals and deceptively simple arrangements keep the songs’ quiet elegance ardent and complete, only occasionally augmented by Miranda Brown’s angelic harmonies or Tom Hagerman’s (Devotchka) haunting violin. The record tells stories of self-imposed or unintentional isolation and the common search for, or escape from, some kind of sanctuary. (Saddle Creek)…looking forward to it….

Haha, that’s true. I look forward to them though, I’m a colonel in the GBV army. I think he actually had three albums come out in May of this year alone, by three different projects too. And I bought all of them.
August 20, 2006 at 1:18 pm #85642jaylst,
available on vinyl ?
Good ?August 20, 2006 at 4:24 pm #85643Yeah, all available on vinyl and three strong and varied releases.
One is Uncle Bob collaborating with powerpopper Tommy Kenne (Keene Brothers),
one is where Bob makes bare bones demos and sends them to Todd Tobias to dress them up (Psycho and the Birds), and the last is a collaboration with former GBV bassist Chris Slusarenko (Takeovers). I would have to say my favorite would be the Keene Brothers. Combining Bob and Keene’s sounds was a wonderful idea.If you’d like, you can order these and other GBV/Pollard/related projects at

Man, I´ve been way too deep into briefcase these last months to even bother to check what he´s up to.Sure anytime, glad to help you out. Briefcase is killer. You just can’t beat that version of Wondering Boy Poet from the Peel session. It blows the Vampire On Titus version out of the water.
