October 27, 2006 at 4:28 pm #85667anyone else here frequent the website salon.com? they have a daily feature called "audiophile" in which they post downloads of tunes along with music news and the like. anyhoo…this week they had 2 songs from the upcoming tom waits collection, as well as a track from the jason molina solo album. you have to watch a 5-10 second ad in order to have access to all of the content, but well worth it. Quote:Nick Cave and three members of his Bad Seeds– Warren Ellis (also of Dirty Three), Martyn Casey, and Jim Sclavunos– will release their as-yet-untitled debut album as Grinderman on March 5 via Mute in the UK.Grinderman’s music is "an instinctual yawlp that…resurrects the demons of each musician’s past: the trashcan proselytizing of Birthday Party-era Nick; Jim Sclavunos’ late 70s New York no-wave noise wisdom; Martyn Casey’s ominous Triffids bass reverb; plus Ellis’ avant-garde soundtrack work and his teenage love of Black Sabbath," according to a press release.
"No Pussy Blues"– the song streaming from the band’s MySpace page– could be mistaken for a track from the Stooges’ reunion album, or at least what we hope that record will sound like. It’s noisy, funny, raw, and totally cathartic.

Quote:KISS’ "Kissology: Volume One 1974-1977" DVD box set sold a whopping 52,000 copies in its first week of release to debut at position No. 1 on Billboard’s Music Video chart."Kissology: Volume One 1974-1977" is a monumental six-hour, two-DVD box set featuring vintage material going all the way back to the deep early roots of the band’s classic lineup — Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss — captured and re-mastered on two state-of-the-art DVDs featuring more than 70 live performances and four full concerts bundled along with unreleased tracks and never-before-seen footage. The mind-boggling first volume of a definitive three part collection (volumes two and three are being readied for release in 2007) presented by VH1 Classic, "Kissology: Volume One 1974-1977" is a showcase of pristine digitally-restored video coupled with a 5.1 audio mix to provide both stunning visual quality and powerhouse finely-detailed sound designed to meet the approval of the most demanding KISSmaniac.
"Kissology: Volume One 1974-1977" goes all the way back one of the band’s earliest live performances in the New York pre-punk glam rock bar scene of the early 1970s before tracing the rocket-paced transformation of KISS into international rock gods who filled the world’s largest arenas as the undisputed hottest band in the land by 1977.

The Saints – Greatest Cowboy Movie Never Made (box set)
…Glitterhouse mailorder has it for about 24 euros (30 US$) over here, quite a nice price for a 4-cd box set….
November 18, 2006 at 5:08 pm #85676No I haven’t, gonna check into that…
I have all their stuff on vinyl, few vinyl singles, most of their stuff on CD as well, couple compilations. Most recently picked up All Times Through Paradise, still waiting on Imperious Delerium.
Love the Saints!
