thank you all very very much, for all the details, setlists and of course the great pics are highly appreciated by those of us, who couldn’t be there! it was definitely a special event, which won’t be repeated.

wowww, and I didn’t know (or forgot) it was Lee Ranaldo who originally did vocals on Little Fury Things. so it was amazing that he added them on stage with J on Friday

the Deep Wound reunion for one song is just awesome (featuring J & Lou together on stage again!!!!) So great that the two other original Deep Wound members came up to rock for one tune together, after almost 20 years!!! :D

Wonderful to hear the show(s) have been recorded and came out nice!
Would also be cool to hear anthony’s spin on things!

ah yes, and barlow did mention he was "honored to be sharing the stage again with my big brother, j mascis."

cool! so it looks like the J/Lou dispute has been resolved completely …sometimes it takes a mom for that  :P ;)

anyone know for sure whether or not that was suzanne thorpe on flute?

not for sure, but Jimi Shields & Suzanne Thorpe (aka The Wounded Knees) have opened for J in Ireland in 2002 and they recorded in Bob’s Place. so the probability is high. Thumb & Never Bought It must have been lovely that way :):):)

…here are some fan reviews from the SY forum on sonicyouth.com: northampton :D

glad folks here are enjoying the pictures (could you change that message on the main page from "Brucesiart.com" to just say "Bruce Siart" thoug? – there’s no such thing as "Brucesiart.com – thanks)
The photos I posted are just 50% of the original scans, and I don’t have enough server space to post all of the full size images, but I thought some of you would at least like to have the full images of the 3 deep wound photos.
        So!
        here they are:
        http://users.110.net/~brucesiart/watt/040430/deep_wound/”>http://users.110.net/~brucesiart/watt/0 … eep_wound/

I could zip all of the full images together and send them to someone who would be willing to host them, but please don’t send in requests for them if ya can’t host them – I am on a 56k modem and it would be impossible for me to send them to everyone who wants them…(well not "impossible I guess, but you know what I mean)
again, glad y’all are diggin the pictures.

          done :D

thanks for the cool offer about the pics! hope someone here has the online space and knowledge!

sorry but I have removed the lager scans of deep wound from my ISPs server – I was exceeding my 13 meg quota.

tried that… turns out the "post photos" part of this site only allows for images with a width of "800" and a size of 128KB. (or something like that)
the images that are posted on my site (the %50 of originals) are 772 x 512…. so I don’t see the point of reposting them here.

the original high quality scans are 1544 x 1024

On the Sonic Youth board, Steve Westfield posted the following message on May 08:

I just got an e mail from Louise Barlow. She said they raised $32,000 from the concert! That is such a huge success for her Autism organization, and way more than we ever would have guessed from the start. Cheers….Sonic Youth, and all involved !

                          :D :!:

I’ve been looking around on sharingthegroove if there might be the one or other recording of the Northampton show, but I didn’t find one.

what I found on their boards was the following thread:

4/30/04!! Sonic Youth, Sebadoh, J. Mascis, and more at Smith College

                                Quote:
Yeah, i was hoping for the Dino Jr. reunion too, but a friend of mine asked J about it and he said that nobody can find Murph. Apparently he has just disappeared. The Deep Wound thing was great though, cuz it was totally unexpected, i mean who would have thought that J Mascis and Lou Barlow would reunite the hardcore band they had in high school at a sebadoh, J, SY concert?

FC, keep your fingers crossed and keep searching from time to time, rumours has it that something or things from northampton might show up on sharingthegroove in the not so distant future. Just rumours though, but gotta keep hope alive :D
