This is regoddamndiculous!!!!!!! What in the f*ck is wrong with this country!!!!!!!!!!

Please help, make your voices heard on every site you can!!!!! Please draw attention to this event!!!! You are losing one of your most basic rights—the freedom of speech!!!!!!!!

No group has the right to tell the rest of us what we can and cannot view. If you don’t like it, turn off your radio. You don’t have to watch or listen…that’s what freedom of speech is all about. If you don’t like it, don’t partake in it.

Janet Jackson’s boob was wrong. It was "just a boob". Her breast isn’t the problem, the problem is that you didn’t have a choice as to whether or not you saw it. But if you know something is racy, or raucous, or goes against your standards, change the channel!!!!!

There is a group that decides what you can and cannot enjoy. They encourage suppression of thoughts. They are harshly against ideas that do not agree with their own, and they impose heavy punishments for those who’s practices and ideas are different from their own. An elite few are deciding what the rest of their culture can and cannot enjoy…

      …it’s not the TALIBAN…it’s the FCC :!:

that is ridiculous … always has been …

people over here are all up in arms about some movie w/mel gibson as jesus or something like that … i mean it’s just one person’s artistic interpretation of an event … if you don’t like it, then look away …

i hear all kinds of crazy rumors on this, one has something to do with clear channels being a huge bush supporter, and howard being very anti-bush. don’t know if that has any validity to it.

in any event no one is talking about jobs, the economy, election reform, the defict, iraq, terroris, or anything important. we are instead talking about gay marriage and shock jocks. america rules

Well it’s been the trick ever since the roman empire to focus on hype rather than the real issues. Bread and circus. It’s all bread and circus.

yep … a much better idea to distract the public w/not-so-important issues in an election year … :?

The most ludacris thing is that I was watching that halftime show and I didn’t even notice the boob thing! Seriously, it was on the air for half a second, was an obvious publicity stunt, and half the world is up in arms about it.

This isn’t a Clear Channel thing (as much as I hate CC) as it is an FCC thing. Ever since the Janet Jackson thing at the Superbowl, the FCC has been cracking down on anything even remotely "indecent". The FCC has recently been talking about raising the fines for each "indecent" act by a factor of 10, to something like $275,000 per violation!

Okai, this is probably a terribly stupid question, but:
what is the FCC? Why does it have the power to fine artists etc?

If America has ‘family values’ why does Las Vegas exist? :?

The whole Janet Jackson thing is weird :? it`s not unusual to be flipping channels and see some naked person at any time of the day.All this censorship is happening ?why? next videos on MTV will be censored

i didn’t say it made sense …

maybe they figure that’s ok b/c it’s a confined space out in the middle of the desert … i don’t know, don’t ask me ! :D

maybe i should have said some people in govt – especially during an election year – claim to take this whole family values crap really seriously … better now ?

Much Music censored a Turbonegro video, Fuck The World. They just eliminated the word, just thought it was strange because we get the unedited osbournes/sopranos on our primetime national networks :?

They have a couple of briefs up on the fcc eb page about the Stern show outlining in detail the offending passages…not sure it’s worth a 755,000 fine
