Hi everyone, longtime lurker. Finally decided to make myself known. The reason I’m so happy is because I just purchased a tix to the Dino show at the orange peel(Asheville, NC) on nov. 30. I’ve been praying that they would come to the area(I live in Charlotte) ever since they reformed. I’ve never seen them since I really got into them. I did get to see them twice back in the early 90’s at lolapalooza but I wasn’t into them at the time. I started listening to J. around the time Without a Sound was released, I bought a couple more albums right after that but was more into Pavement, Primus, and Sonic Youth. I made the mistake of not checking into their earlier albums untill about a year and half ago and it’s just about all I listen to nowadays. My kids are probably getting a lil sick of dino by now, but I think they’re coming around to it and they don’t even realize it.
Anyways, I’m just so happy right now. Did I mention that I’m happy enough times yet?
I’m sure I’ll be fine with whatever the setlist holds, but it would really make my night if they were to play they always come, raisans, Tarpit, ah hell there’s to many to be picky. Anyhow great site and I’ll let you guys know how the night went.
Hope that wasn’t too confusing for eveyone. I’ve been running a high fever for the past couple of days and I’m a little bit delirious right now.

November 14, 2007 at 1:43 pm #132499Thanks for the welcome everyone. I’ve been married for the past 12 years and now we’re seperated
so I’ve been out of the loop as far as shows go. That’s one of the reason’s I’m so excited, is to just get out of the house again. Now all I need is a good pair of earplugs.November 14, 2007 at 3:35 pm #132500November 14, 2007 at 4:13 pm #132501"built_to_spill " wrote:Thanks BTS, that’s very helpfull. I was looking at the different types. Do you have a preference?
November 14, 2007 at 5:07 pm #132502I think the learned around here, sleepy, would advise you to get maximum "noise reduction rating" (NRR) on plugs – – looks like 33 is the #.

That’s quite alright(about being late), and thank you. I realize people actually lead secret lives away from message boards.

It’s not my first show. My first show was way back in 1981, Black Sabbath(w/Ronnie James Dio not Ozzy) and Molly Hatchet.
I’ve probably been to at least 500 shows, and god only knows how many different bands at all those shows. It’s just that I’ve heard most Dino shows are known for being louder than most bands. When you’re pushing forty and have already ruined your ears from hanging out up front all those years it starts to take it’s toll.Or maybe J’s turned it down a notch and it’s not really as loud as what some have said it once was?
November 15, 2007 at 8:05 pm #132507no, haha, ITS LOUD! gotta be over 120db at least
