Last year’s album ‘Nothing stops moving’ made it into my top 10 album list of last year, and this one is even better. Obvious influences are Wilco and the Replacements. 15 beautiful songs (..only 40 minutes….), a beautiful production, what could one wish for more on the day before Christmas?ps. Sad Mafioso: my current favourites on the ‘Acuarela Songs’: Aroah, Dakota Suite, Paula Frazer, Sodastream and Virgil Shaw

They always roll through Ohio, play in some college town, and then I find out about it days later.
Scrawl might no longer be together? Their drummer moved to Sweden, and the lead lady (Marcy Mays) has been doing some solo piano performances set to silent movies. Interesting. I’ll refrain from making a Cat Power comparison.
I think Spoon, Scrawl and the Archers of Loaf need to get together and throw a big ‘Elektra had their heads up their asses’ party All 3 were dropped almost immediately after their best albums were released.

January 3, 2002 at 10:54 am #68143Jamie-thanks for the Scrawl info.Yeah,Elektra was crazy to drop those bands.Welcome to the boards,Jamie cool to have you here.
Allison-hope you found some Silkworm albums,I had a hard time finding them around here. You might have to do the order thing,I`m thinking of doing the same thing with the albums by them I don`t have.Firewater is the album to get first,it`s an hour long,16 songs, the best album they`ve done yet.
I recommend the other albums too if you see them around.Maxini-Radio Birdman rawk!
January 3, 2002 at 11:19 am #68144January 3, 2002 at 1:52 pm #68145Allison and Mattman, basically you both have some growing up to do
Oh and Mattman my friend, now that you’ve graduated from collage and can be expected to earn a decent living, be sure that you’ll be hearing from my lawyer any day now
January 3, 2002 at 3:01 pm #68146Hey Culo, you came up with the name, not me, so who’s the mature one here is up for debate…
Wanna bring on your lawyer? If I’m gonna be making such a good living, be sure that I’ll have my own team of law machines awaiting your attempt.
Besides, I still think that your should grow a Watt stache like that.
Hey Allison.. MISSED!?!!? It’s both wet AND freezing out there, and they say that another cold front is on its way down. If anything, you’ve hit us with a double whammy.
January 3, 2002 at 3:11 pm #68147Hey Mattman,
Seems my powers have become more focused somehow…surprised myself Hmmm, maybe you shouldn’t have made fun of Canadian weather Be careful out there
