The Vines

I believe they are heavily hyped in England (and being compared to Nirvana), but the album is great fun, some great tunes on it, great summer album (and I only payed about 10 $ for it…)

ps. nearest comparison I can think of is Supergrass…

Primal Scream – Evil Heat

New album from this band you either love or hate, it is loud, electronic, has some great rocking songs on it, Kevin Shields (who also produced half of the album) Jim Reid (JAMC) and Kate Moss all do their bits on it and den Buck likes it a lot!

Red Hot Chili Peppers-old one w/ catholic school girls rule and Californication
Metallica-master of puppets (I don’t care what any of you say, Kirk Hammet plays WICKED guitar!!!)
Zepplin-Houses of the Holy & 4
Sabbath-greatest hits collection.

But I really can’t wait to get my hands on this new J album!!!

I could get myself in a lot of trouble. Walked into Bionic Records, and said "Ohh, I want that!, and oh!!! I want that too. and that one over there.. Hmmm, also see: so and so.. Cool.. I want it too." Look out.. October 8th.. There may be a chance I will be camped out! Or at least, no scheduled appointments for that morning. Working from Home is cool.

but back to the point, I ended up getting just one CD:

Dashboard Confessional – The Places you have come to fear the most

Then from another place:

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring DVD..

quote:
Metallica-master of puppets (I don’t care what any of you say, Kirk Hammet plays WICKED guitar!!!)

Yep. I agree.. Master is probably the greatest Metal album EVER. Not just the best Metallica album, METAL ALBUM EVER.. And one of the classics of my time. So no need to defend yourself

Counting July as well here since i missed this type o’ thread then:

Quasi: Early Recordings and also Sword of God
Original Sinners- Same
Sleater-Kinney- One Beat that came with a 2 song bonus CD and a KRS sampler cd Jackson’s Jukebox, verrrrrrry cool this mix…
Buffalo Tom- Birdbrain (J on the knobs)
Belly- Star
D/j- Without A Sound for $5:)
Iron Maiden- Live After Death:D

I vote yea on Master as well for best metal album ever. Also have to give sonic props to Slayer’s Reign in Blood, possibly the most brutal metal album ever in sound and lyricism.

Slayer is cool… I have not listened to them in months, especially since I have the tapes in a box somehwere.. I do have South of Heaven on C.D., so every once in while, I pop it in, and go "Damn, I still like speed/thrash metal!" It does have its place.

It is especially useful in traffic!!

Carl.

Carl-yeah,I know about going into record stores and wanting everything,I try to be patient and buy things up when I get the cash to do so.
Halfman-BT`s Birdbrain is a good album, still very Dino like at that point,Let Me Come Over is my fav album by them, check that out if you see it around.Belly`s Star is a great album, alot better their 2nd album King,Tanya`s new album(Beautysleep) is almost as good as Star.

what the buggery bullocks is this?
it makes me truly happy to see all these folks listening to pixies!
and taking advice from some folks here i just done ordered from my local record store(the only place i spend $$ other than for groceries, books or gas for the betty mobile) the new release cd of the first 2 db’s albums, and somethin’ else i forget…
so the owner of said local independent record shop is a total cutie but WAY oblivious to my flirts so i quitquitquit on the crush but will continue to bug him with questions and demands like keepin’ an eye out for short, sharp, shocked on used cd(it is outta print) and orderin’ the first two BT records when i got mas dinero(unless they appear in the used section). i doubt mightily i will get the new belly cd but star was ok, i did not listen to it for several years i guess that made the pop more palatable. i am a k. hersh fan from way back so i will give tanya her due, cuz i loved her writin’ with the muses.

I got Sleater-Kinney’s One Beat today. It rocks its sock off! Haven’t listened to the extra goodies yet, but the disc itself rules.
