weird Robbie Williams story, Robert
wouldn’t have ever thought of going to a show like this. but to do someone nice a favour is reason enough.

I’ve seen The Fire Theft some days ago, the band with 3 of 4 members from Sunny Day Real Estate, a band which I appeciated much. It made me sad that I never had the chance to see SDRE, because they split before I got to know their music.

so it thrilled me to hear that they kinda reunited with a new band name & a newly released album. I like the new album, it has much of the best SDRE traditions but also its own style.

the Logo club (again :) ) wasn’t sold out, some 100 or 150 people came to see them, I think because the Fire Theft have hardly been mentioned in the press over here. I was especially curious how Jeremy Enigk’s incredible ethereal voice would come out live, also the band’s very dense "Emo" sound. but they managed it easily to bring these features on stage with only 4 guys. great gig, and I finally bought the album :P :D

missed the first band, obviously

second band was shirtless with lots of distortion, and for some reason played in front of the stage instead of on it. young people’s equiptment was not yet set up. kinda strange, but not interesting.

young people were ok, not very memorable.

liars play for a whopping 35 minutes. they went on around 12:20 or so. nothing from they stuck us all in a trench. lots of wild stage movements, singer reminds me of evan dando (in a good way) BUT show was too fucking short, and i would be super jacked if i paid the service charge. good luck with shows comes to an end.

got dragged to ben harper by the mrs. only ever heard his cover of Sexual Healing, which I liked. Drank double rum and brandy’s = remember nothing apart from a hot dog.

he may have been ok. Brixton Academy holds much better memories for me though (Rollercoaster, to name one).
