true

I looked it up, and it has been on german tv not too long ago. and they don’t show movies with subtitles here, the audience here won’t accept that. people here are too used to movements of mouth which don’t fit to what they hear
I’ll have to persuade a friend to videotape it next time they show it on tv
(me=no-tv-haver
)May 23, 2004 at 3:50 pm #92251Yeah, you germans are dubbing masters of the universe

I just can’t understand that you haven’t gotten yourself a tv yet:)May 23, 2004 at 3:54 pm #92252I don’t have time for watching tv

I mean, usually I don’t miss having tv. and the few things I’d like to watch I have videotaped, or I just occupy my friend’s couch
May 23, 2004 at 3:57 pm #92253that is a good plan! and I don’t watch much tv either, too many other things to do that’s better than sitting and staring. I love movies though. but they’re best at the cinema. But I look at not having a tv as somewhat complicated, in case there’s something I would like to see. But yeah, occupying friends couches is a good thing!
May 24, 2004 at 10:21 am #92254I just watched Andre Agassi get bounced form the French open in the first round. He is getting old but i still love him. Sort of good in a way. Now i won’t feel as obligated to stay awake after work to watch the matches. I’ll always stay up for most of the women’s side of the tornament. Both Williams are around and the stars in general stay around longer than in the wide open world of men’s tennis.
Speaking of stars, the Lakers did their job and knocked out dull duncan, now all they have to do is implode and lose to the Timberwolves. All the games are ending late, how many time out do you need. All events, films included should be under two hours. There you have the lack of attention span syndrome achieved by being raised with tv.

not really sure how it would be for someone who doesn’t speak norwegian though, not sure if all the points would be understood. Hopefully Allison will give us an explanation of that:)Definitely some dark weird dialogue, & I did love the eggs

It had english subtitles, although I can’t figure out why they would use a light yellow transciption color over a white background, thankfully that happened only a few times

I saw Agassi’s news conference following his loss…
May 24, 2004 at 12:37 pm #92256lol, glad you loved the eggs Allison!
Weird deal about the subtitles though.May 29, 2004 at 3:02 pm #92257Just saw Bruce Campbell as Elvis Presley in Bubba Ho-Tep, completely silly but fun most of the way thru! Elvis in a personal care home with Ossie Davis as JFK, fighting off Egyptian flying mummies…

June 9, 2004 at 2:22 pm #92258Caught the silliest show in the world sunday morning after a wicked night at work…
Couldn’t actually see much difference between the contestants, might have been the lack of sleep but…
Pretty funny though, definitely recommend it as a cool waste of time, although those air guitar classes that Canadian offers for a fee…
June 15, 2004 at 9:24 am #92259my uncle is the best air guitar player in the world, he told me; i’m only basement sweet sixteen party band material, but my air drumming skills are almost up to club touring band level.
I just watched the Lakers play tough for three quarters of game four then walked to work and listened to them fall apart like over hyped mega milk toast. I hate the lakers and will never be a fan, but for some reason i’m pulling for them again. I think it’s the refs. Not taking anything away form the tough play of Detroit, but the league needs a team from the east to win. People talk too much about how much better the west is and it is true, but a champ rising up to defeat the much heralded Lake show, who got all the calls last series, being that the league needed them in the finals for ratings. Man would i love to KG trying to take over like shaq is but kobe won’t let him, too many big heads only one small ball. Still i hate when the fix is in, just kills me to see someone not get a fair shake.
June 15, 2004 at 10:00 am #92260american splendor … it was good + as a documentary of sorts it was well worth watching, but certainly not the riotously funny, side-splitting comedy it has been written up as … i sometimes wonder if reviewers actually fully check out what they’re reviewing or if they mostly review based on press releases
… naughty little reviewers :slap:
June 21, 2004 at 5:46 pm #92261I’m just right back from the cinema, I watched The Station Agent, a film, not so much about the main character being small, but about how 3 people who are a bit freaky (I mean, ain’t we all) and who haven’t always been treated nice by life, how they just get along, how they become friends, and how they just try and share their solitude… a melancholic but never sentimental film about ‘real’ people, somehow.
I don’t know why that kind of movies always make me cry. they’re not even really sad. it’s just the way these protagonists fight for their dignity (which is never taken away by the movie itself).June 28, 2004 at 6:31 am #92262glasto coverage on the bbc throughout the weekend … the lineup wasn’t that great this year, come to think of it last year wasn’t that good either apart from radiohead
+ primal scream …
June 30, 2004 at 6:49 am #92263… lost in translation on dvd … it was perfection on film    …
June 30, 2004 at 10:51 am #92264I agree, that’s a wonderful movie, also besides the cool soundtrack by Kevin Shields
