And I would very much like to see some science backing up your theory of women being more controlled by their emotions than men, because I belive that to be untrue.

As for sex in zero gravity, I’m kind of confused -wouldn’t the ‘each action has an opposite reaction’ thing make that kind of difficult ?

        Straps, Robert. Straps.

As for the insane astronaut lady, you’d think that at some point — perhaps around the 800th mile of her odyssey — sitting behind the wheel of her car in a pee-soaked diaper, she’d catch a glimpse of herself in the rearview mirror in the sunglasses and wig, and think to herself: What the fuck am I doing? But apparently not.

Yeah Tubby………I would have expected, only judging by her training and background, to be more in control of her actions. That is a long drive and Of, course, anyone can lose it….but a little soul searching on the way should have been in order for her.

My husband said "straps" also……funny………I still don’t think it would work well.

Yeah, I took a stompin in this topic. Juan helped me to see that I am a product of the South born in a time when women still called their husbands, Mr. so and so in front of formal guests. Also my father like my husband is a genius when it comes to anything mechanical, electrical, they are both so leval headed so I really would rather have my father or my husband in control of an airplane if something is going wrong and not myself which I then projected my mechanical apptitude onto all women.

Men and women are both emotional yes Robert, woman, yes it is a generalization and I can only pull from my reference points (my life) women tend to talk out feelings………share them with others…….bring them to the surface more…………..I would not call it being controlled by emotions, although I did use the word subject which implies control, most men I work with do not talk about how they feel and just bottle it in until it overflows………..and they explode. Which is why I believe men in general tend to shoot others and themself more so than women……..generalizations again, I know.

Okay, case in point, see I process so much of my life through freakscene because I need more woman around to talk. Working in the 911 room I handled the classic call of "I am going to kill myself" so I get the paramedics and police rolling asap, talking to him, I believe this guy was David, I got him to keep up a dialog with me, being a gemini, I comforted him with warm reassurances that help was on the way and that although I did not know him, I wanted him to live. He responded back to me which is a good indication that
he just needed an outlet for all of this heavy stuff on his mind, our dialog went on for five minutes or so back and forth, very positive………then Ka-boom, and silence….David, David……..hello david, David can I get you back on the phone please……..silence,more silence…….I look up to some of the old 911 pros who by now have patched into the call with me, keep asking for him, I hear another girl say to me through my headphones, David, David silence David, I want to speak with you again…….more silence…….until I hear the officers coming throught the door calling his name……………..an officer picked up the phone and said central he is 10-07 (dead) and then screaming……….I think this is his mother coming in the house right now……………….screaming, screaming, screaming.

So this officer gets back and we are told to take 30 minutes together to "process" or "debrief", this is to keep you from processing with family members or friends who, after a while do not want to hear another depressing thing from you.

          In the lunchroom together

Me: so he was dead huh?
          Him: yeah
          Me: Wow
          silence
Me: I had him talking with me for a bit.
          Him: yeah
          Me: yeah
          silence
Me: that was his mother screaming in the backgroung
Him: yeah, she…the neighbor called her…..she had just arrived about the same time.
Me: That has to be the worst thing ever for a Mother, how sad!
          Him: yeah
Me: Was it bad, you know.
Him: Not really, If I was going to shoot myself in the head I would not use a .22 caliber pistol, I did not see an exit wound.
          Me: hummmmm?
Him: Well, I want to eat are you hungry?
Me: Not really, I think I am going to run home for a bit.
          Him: sounds good.

Less than 5 minutes spent processing………so I went home and called my sister. Okay, what did that have to do with anything? I am bored….thats it.

I think the lady astranaut was stressed out……..that is it!!!!
projecting again, if I were put into a little metal box that sits on top of
over half a million gallons of flamable liquid hydrogen…..waiting for a flame
          I would want a diaper too……

Sad………sad is children with out food to eat…………..she allowed herself to become unglued, bad career move.

            Annastefka, you completely fascinate me.

Oh, regarding sex in zero gravity…It makes me think of the Simpsons when Homer becomes an astronaut. He opens a bag of chips and when they go everywhere he floats around and eats them…Now just substitute chips with something else and you’ve got yourself a party.

people don’t usually allow themselves to become unglued, sometimes it just happens, have to wait & see what the case is, prejudging based on limited info helps nobody, especially her kids.

theres a lot of sad shit, a lot more than kids being hungry, doubt she was worring about her career on that drive.

Not sure what you meant in an earlier post about worrying about male bus drivers… ???

pedophiles and molesters in general are men………..like 98% of them………standard MO is to integrate themselves into an environment full of children……..baseball teams, school teacher, school bus driver etc.
Almost every sex-offender of children will state that they feel "horrible" about their actions and knew that what they were doing was wrong but were unable to control the impulse. Also many, many studies have shown that the child victims are chosen based on weakness and vulnerability.
I had a child with Autism and he was assigned to go to school at age 3…called early intervention…they offered us a bus because we live a bit out in the country, the driver was male…..I didn’t like it………not for a autistic child with at that time…a limited vocabulary. No way…could have been the nicest guy in the world. I didn’t care……….I didn’t feel comfortable with it.

Case in point…Edward Stokes…..a child molester who has now gone missing, and is somewhere in the US molesting at this very moment, he wrote a letter to a therapist in the early 1990s, Stokes said he had molested 212 victims and felt like a monster.

"I am angry at myself and others, but I still seek out the weak and the unsuspecting as my victims,"

Yeah, well, Edward that is something I am aware of………and to protect my son, I just said No, to being alone with any males, and my son would have been alone………he was the last child to be dropped off on the bus route. Are all men molesters, heck no, do most men have a sexual thought about every 20 minutes or so…………I don’t know, that’s what I have been told. I’m no expert.
No thank you says Mama Bear.

so glad you qualified that statement, had me worried for awhile ;) I’ve worked with both victims & predators, if I had kids I’d find a way to get some sort of gps tag into their bodies, educating kids about predators is a must!

I don’t understand why sex crimes aren’t penalized to the same extent as homicides. I really don’t. It’s amazing to me that you can rape multiple people and not be locked up for life.

Is it because it’s generally a crime committed against women and children, who are historically less protected and less given-a-shit-about by society? Is it that the courts don’t have a real grip on the psychological ramifications of sexual abuse? Someone, enlighten me.

Yeah your guess is as good as mine Rosa. I don’t get it either. I think they should just put all the sexuall predators and lock em up in the same place, this way they can just rape each other and everyone is happy.

This is Bullsh@t! I can’t believe Marvel killed off Cap. He’s been my favorite since forever. Upon reading the news I had to race to the nearest comic book shop and buy it and the one with the variant cover. I’m guessing that since a movie is in the works they’ll bring him back to life when it comes out. Makes sense.

I miss my comic book days but they cost way much than they should these days.I read my first Captain America in 1982,I think Nick Fury and SHIELD guested in that issue.I remember the summer of `83 with the issue with Deathlok, that was cool:

Man Burns Genitals in ‘Jackass’ Copy Stunt
                                  AP
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (March 8) – Attempts to duplicate a movie stunt landed one man in the hospital with burned genitals and another facing criminal charges.

The men were trying to do a stunt from one of the "Jackass" movies, in which a character lights his genitals on fire.

Jared W. Anderson, 20, suffered serious burns to his hands and genitals, according to the criminal complaint. Randell D. Peterson, 43, who sprayed lighter fluid on Anderson and lit him on fire, was charged with felony battery and first-degree reckless endangerment Tuesday in Eau Claire County Court.

Witnesses told police that Anderson, who was drunk, volunteered to do the stunt Sunday after watching the movie, the complaint said.

After Peterson ignited Anderson, he ran into the bathroom, jumped into the tub and put the flames out, according to the complaint. He was taken to Luther Hospital, and eventually treated at the Regions Hospital Burn Unit in St. Paul, Minn., for second-degree burns.

Anderson told police that he didn’t want anyone to get in trouble because of the stunt.

Peterson was freed on a $2,000 bond. He has a hearing scheduled April 16. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
