yah ever since js guitars and lous basses got stolen
i wonder what kind of guitars js playing live now
i assume more jazzmasters
but what year color ect…December 16, 2006 at 7:18 am #124250J’s got 2 jazzmaster, a sunburst and a lake placid blue. He only used the sunburst one when I saw them and it looked like it had some wear on the back of it so I’m guessing it’s vintage along with the other one.
Lou is playing a blue fender P bass I think which has that retro paisley pattern on it like this

December 17, 2006 at 1:58 pm #124254It’s a Japanese made, limited edition, reissue of a 1954 P bass with Fenders ‘Blue Flower’ finish
50’s P basses only have 1 single coil pick up
December 17, 2006 at 8:08 pm #124255J’s first Jazzy is in a museum now.
Oh well. That was a nice one too.December 18, 2006 at 10:31 am #124256which museum, do you have a link?
so are steve turners and marks first guitars and superfuzz’s
December 18, 2006 at 11:09 am #124257I think J’s original sunburst Jazzmaster is kept here — http://www.emplive.org — it’s a music museum in Seattle.
They have some Hendrix gear there too.
J had a red, block inlay jazzmaster as a back up at some of the recent shows too
December 18, 2006 at 11:28 am #124258You used to be able to see it in the display case but it doesn’t seem to be there.

December 23, 2006 at 9:07 am #124260well, if thats J’s Jazzy they have de-stickered it. It was the same except a ton of cow and animal stickers all over it.

December 28, 2006 at 3:40 pm #124261…and what about pedals?!?
has he changed something in his gear/rack?
i know somebody stole his Custom Audio Electronics remote switcher… how does he handle his rack now?!?December 29, 2006 at 8:43 am #124262Hopefully J has recovered his stolen CAE switcher, but it’s probably more likely that he had a replacement made.
at the show in London at the beginning of December, his effects rig appeared to be exactly the same as before the gear was stolen
December 29, 2006 at 10:52 pm #124263Knowing the things that happen to great indie bands like this…..stolen gear all the time (i.e. Sonic Youth and now J) I’m sure that people kinda prepare for this type of thing and buy extras. I know he has a ton of gear and even more pedals. IF I ever get to where I’m playing music for a living I know I’ll be buying tons of gear….when I get the gear I like, then I’ll buy the same stuff over again, just in case. It’s kind of like making a backup disk….why not?
