Hey everybody,

The dino jr. live tracks are available right now at http://www.universalbuzz.com

      Here’s what I need:
If anyone has a few extra minutes and wants to send me the track listing and maybe a blurb about the tracks, about dino jr. in general, a story about your experience at a dino show, whatever, I’ll post it on the site in the space we have the bio in right now.

The Dino Jr. bio is actually one of our better bios, but I’d like to put up some relevant info about the tracks included in the show if possible.

      email me: stanley@universalbuzz.com

      Thanks in advance,
      Stanley

        From the aforementioned bio:
quote:
He now lives mostly in Amsterdam, in self-imposed exile, and shies away from the music press.

Whoa! To think that J was living so close to me all this time! Seriously, who made this up? Everybody knows J recorded "More Light" at his home in Amherst.

As for the "show" — it’s simply the "In Session" cd that was released by Strange Fruit in 1999, right? (Great performances, most definitely, but I think that most of us already own that album.) The track listing is:

        In A Jar
        Leper
        Keep the Glove
        Budge
        Bulbs of Passion
        Raisins
        Keeblin’
        No Bones
        Does it Float
        Get Me

The notes about Dinosaur Jr. from Byron Coley that came with this cd are pretty cool, why don’t you use those?

quote:
Mascis, livid,

            hee hee

quote:
shoved the band into the consciousness of Rock’s underside

            hmm…sounds like a trip to the doctor’s I made last year…

quote:
the amazing Sebadoh

let’s not go opinionating the biographies, now.

quote:
the band’s next anti-hit, a hilarious version of the Cure’s worst 45, ‘Just Like Heaven’. Typically, the ton of irony involved in their choice of the song as well as Mascis’ laconic delivery, went over the heads of many

hey, add my head to that list.

quote:
Rock’ Dinosaur Jr purposefully threw obstacles in the way of the media to avoid being given an MTV make-over.

J just doesn’t seem that calculating to me. I think that the relative fame of the band was incidental, and hardly influenced by the band’s throwing obstacles. Although, that’s quite an interesting mental picture.

quote:
‘The Year Punk Broke’ shows the band (and peers Sonic Youth, Nirvana, 7 Year Bitch and others)

I don’t remember 7 Year Bitch in that video?

Kinda thought I had heard that beginning b4, thanks for picking that up Jasper. Hopefully this show is new to some out there, I like listening to it while I check out stuff online.

I think I posted a link to that bio somewhere else on this site, the errors were pointed out there as well. Overall thou I think its a pretty decent bio compared to some I’ve seen. Hmmm, getting nervous about adding a bio here…

Doesn’t Lou sing something like half the songs on the first album?

Hey, sorry about the glaring inaccuracies, opinionations, and fabrications in the bio. That’s why we need a new one! The girl who wrote most of them for us was a little lacking in the research department and a little overzealous in the "comparing stuff to nirvana" department. Plus she has a very active imagination, which led to many many fabrications and half truths in a lot of the bios. Read some of them, they’re a hoot.

Thanks for the setlist though, and if anyone has a decent bio please send it to me. If I get a minute I’ll correct the errors y’all pointed out. And sorry if anyone was disappointed by us playing a previously available show. I really didn’t know. A lot of times I don’t hear the stuff until I get it up on the site.

                      Later,
                      Stanley
