Hello
My name is Aatos. I haven’t done any introduction yet so heres a short one. I live in Finland and have lived in Sweden too. I heard dino jr first time in 95-96 in a skateboarding movie, i liked it but didn’t know which band it was. I got to know about dino jr almost a year ago and now i know that the song i first heard was "i dont think so". By the way it sounds funny to tell these things because i guess everyone else here have been listening to dino since the times i were born….

I also listen to bts, modest mouse, jimi hendrix, 764-hero…. I play guitar in a band called paxupepe, it sucks. I skate a lot and do some snowboarding too. I tried photography and liked it, but i wasn’t rich enough for that hobby so ill continue with it if ill ever be able to sponsor my hobby.January 26, 2003 at 5:15 pm #84830Hey Aatos,
Welcome to the board; its a nice place to talk about J and all the other things that comes in free minds.
BTW a band called PAXUPEPE never sucks!January 27, 2003 at 12:09 pm #84831Hansione: Some day there is gonna be a topic in get discovered -forum about paxupepe and its officially proved to suck…

March 17, 2003 at 11:30 pm #84833I wasn’t going to post here until Salamiguy did, but I don’ t think that is ever going to happen!

So I’m from San Diego, CA. Grew up here and then went to college. I got my bachelor’s in American Studies at UC Davis. The film "Bowling for Columbine" I think is a good representation of what American Studies is. It pulls from history, pop culture and stuff like that to ask questions about our society/culture. Then I got my master’s in Cinema Studies at SF State. That’s San Francisco. Goddamn nice city. After I finished up with that I couldn’t find a job in SF due to our shitty economy. So, alas, I had to move back to San Diego.
I work in the grant administration dept of a foundation that serves as an auxilary to a major university here. It’s a bum job, but it’s a job. Doesn’t really fulfill my interests. Well, not at all actually. And to take care of that, I have started volunteering at the San Diego Historical Society. I’m researching the old movie theaters of downtown SD, and will write up an in depth history of them all that will someday be posted on their website. I’m going to be tying up film history with regular history and, really, the impact movies have had on our culture. Well, at least the impact they had back then since I’m starting with theaters that were built for the stage and converted, or small ones that served as nickelodeons. Almost all of these are gone now. Sadly, moviegoers are stuck with shitty multiplexes with small screens and too few seats. This project will be my lament.
I like to buy cds, preferably used because the hunt is more fun, books and dvds. First heard Dinosaur Jr in ’93 on 120 minutes on MTV. It was an instant attraction. The fact that J wrote an eight minute song called ‘Alone’ epitomizes why he is cool.
25 yrs old.
