They sounded better than ever. Great venue, great j, lou & Murph. I had earplugs in place, but literally halfway thru the 1st song, out they came! This shit is too fuckin transcendent to not hear PURE. And we were like equivalent to 8th row dead center. Tonite will be another siiiiiiiiiick show, I’m sure.
BTW, the openers, Awesome Color, kicked ass as well.

June 7, 2007 at 3:00 pm #129823Hmmmmmm. I thought the show was dull as hell, easily the weakest of the 9 or 10 I’ve seen since the reunion. Things didn’t pick up for me until the Kracked/Sludge bit (though the solo in Pick Me Up was fantastic), and the encore was good (typical stuff — Swan, Freakscene, and Chunks — but played with spirit). This reunion appears to be in danger of becoming a routine job for them. Murph, however, was killer.
That said, I have higher hopes for tonight, as from posts about previous shows it seems like when the first night of a two-nighter isn’t so good they generally make up for it with the second.

Though they didn’t play the same place in Washington, the second show they played in Olympia was better than their initial show in Seattle. Funny thing is though Tubby only a seasoned fan can tell the difference when they have an off night or play killer. I hate that I notice it now. In this case ignorance is bliss.

I must get difficult from time to time…………..just hope it doesn’t become difficult all the time.
June 8, 2007 at 1:22 am #129826Much, MUCH better show tonight! Playing Just Like Heaven second was a nice change-up, and they played Crumble, which sounded unbelievably good. They were back to their usual standard. And last night I was with two people who despise each other as only 28-year-old women can despise each other. Perhaps that negative energy colored my perception of things a bit.
And we got Raisans.
