Kind of hard to believe
June 19, 2007 at 11:56 pm #130260i think i just threw up in my mouth alittle………….
June 20, 2007 at 11:05 am #130261Yes, they will play 45 minutes, the tour people will be on their ass about time and you will be surrounded by kiosks giving away cigarrettes. You will also have people painting pictures, getting their pictures taken for some weird keychain thing…basically, it’s a big tour by Camel to sell more cigarettes. I was stoked because I got a friend of mine 2 free packs of smokes and I got a free drink out of it.
Dinosaur will not be nearly as loud as normal, but still much louder than the Black Keys. I dig the Black Keys, but it was really low volume for a concert. So much so you could hear talking and shit over the music.
June 20, 2007 at 12:41 pm #130262I will be at the show tomorrow night. Not sure if i will stick around for the black keys. I’ve heard them before and they are not bad by any means, I just don’t know if i want to check them out.
I will be their for the Dinosaur Jr show though. That is disapointing they won’t be as loud. Not as disapointing as the fact that Dinosaur Jr is opening

either way i’m sure it will be great i’ve never seen a bad J/Dinosaur show.
June 20, 2007 at 1:28 pm #130263Oh, I had a blast. Loved it. I’m just saying, it’s an odd scene at the shows.
June 28, 2007 at 4:15 pm #130264Wow, that pisses me off. A band that has been around for about 20+ years opening up for a band that has been around for 6 years. Im not saying that the Black Keys are bad, this is just wrong.
June 30, 2007 at 4:02 am #130265I don’t see why people see this as some big fucking blasphemous tragedy. As I think Lou or Murph said in an interview, it’s a way to get across to people who normally wouldn’t listen to Dino. That and a whole lotta $$$, but it’s not like they are ‘selling out’. They deserve every penny they can make.

It seems to be sort of a cosmic joke at this point for me. That said, I also think they deserve every penny they can make. Most of us over 30 can undestand that this is they way these guys make money and it seems to take a lot of money these days to keep a family going. With any sort of art you have to learn how to "sell" it the right way………..or not. I know from experience from my husband, it takes a strong woman to be able to handle the ups and downs of finances when your husband is making a living doing "his thing"
There have been times when my husband suddenly has $40,000 dollars and other times when we have only $137 dollars to our names……….and we have 4 kids. YIKES! Thats what finally led me to get a "real" job as they call it. I am all for the guys making money.July 2, 2007 at 11:47 am #130267"Only sick music makes money today."

July 2, 2007 at 3:02 pm #130268so then, what does everyone think about them opening for the Chili Peppers on the 28th & 30th ?
July 2, 2007 at 4:35 pm #130269The Chilli Peppers have been around just as long. And payed their dues just as Dinosaur has. Honestly I’d go see that one, John Frusciante is a pretty damn good guitar player too.
July 2, 2007 at 6:35 pm #130270fuck the chilli peppers, flea seems like an alright dude. but the chilli peppers blow, they in no way compare to dinosaur in the least. anthony keidis is a douche bag.

I saw them before and they have a pretty righteous light show that Dinosaur could never compete with, but that doesn’t really have to much to do with it. The Chili Peppers shows nowadays suck.
July 2, 2007 at 8:50 pm #130272It’s funny, I actually prefer the Chili Peppers more recent stuff, like Californication. I think Flea and Anthony seem like toolboxes, but I love Frusciante’s playing. Frusciante’s playing is the major reason I like the more recent stuff.
July 2, 2007 at 10:34 pm #130273I like frusciante’s solo stuff better than his chili peppers stuff, besides blood sugar… But i like them better with hillel and Dave. The I like Californication but the albums that came out after that seem like they are too Poppy and not where they were originally coming from.
