Don’t let the bastards get you down/ a tribute to kris kristofferson.
Normaly I don’t like these kind of things but this one is realy special. Great interpetations by Tom Verlaine (television), Mother Hips and Chuck Prophet to name a few.
I like Coldplay too, the last album has some more "rough-sides", better than Parachutes.
November 16, 2002 at 9:40 pm #73875Been to a giant cd and record-fair today, and bought:
Dinosaur Jr. – Where you been (it was quite hard to play my vinyl copy on my PC )
Mike Johnson – Year of Mondays
REM – Best of (…their IRS years…., I now got a ‘safe back-up’ of a lot of vinyl 7"s )
The Libertines – Up the bracket
Howie Beck – Hollow
v/a – Americanism (Dream Syndicate, Long Ryders, Miracle Legion, Thin White Rope, Beat Farmers, the dB’s, Green on Red, Golden Palominos etc. etc.)
Chris Coco – Next Wave (dancy stuff, with Nick Cave singing a trip-hoppy cover of the Velvet Underground’s ‘Sunday Morning’ )
Barry Adamson – The king of Nothing Hill
Jon Spencer Blues Explosion – Shakin’ Rock’n’Roll (5 audio tracks, 4 video tracks)….none of these cd’s was more expensive than 4 euros (which is exactly 4 US$ nowadays )
Most expensive cd I bought was the new Johnny Cash album, ‘American Recordings IV, The man comes around’ for 10 euros (he even covers Nine Inch Nails’ ‘Hurt’ )

On Sat I bought:
Richard Buckner-Impasse
It seems to be a more happier album then in the past, all the songs sound alike though but I think that`s his intention. His lyrics are as abstract as ever all sung with a twang.November 18, 2002 at 6:47 pm #73881Jurassic 5–Strength in Numbers
