So, I finally have something to add to one of these…
Guess who just grabbed a copy of Beaster for 4 freakin’ bucks!
(OK, so the case is trashed, but the disc and insert are still good.)
Also picked up Versus – Secret Swingers… My first Versus album. They came here Sept. 2000 with YLT and I remember being pretty impressed by them, then I promptly forgot about them… Then last night, as I was finally getting back to listening to some of those songs you folks sent me back when we were on Audio Galaxy (
) (yes, I’m still trying to listen to all of that… It’s over 1.5 gigs!!!) I came across the Versus tracks that someone (probably SG
) sent me and was all "I remember those guys" and also how much I liked them…Of course, now my delima is that I want to get ahold of a copy of "The Stars Are Insane" which I hear is one of their greatest, but is unfortunately way out of print… Can anyone help me out on this one? Any "copy" will do.

The Stars Are Insane you might be able to order from Teenbeat Records, check out their web site.Dead Leaves is better in my opinion(a compilation of singles and stuff)you should get that,I think it`s their best cd.2 Cents Plus Tax is also fantastic, ditto for Hurrah.
Secret Swingers is a great album;cool that you were able to find it :aliensmile:February 15, 2003 at 7:30 am #91026Hey Matt
You`re right about The Stars Are Insane being out of print but some other Versus albums are available from teenbeat:http://www.teenbeatrecords.com/”>http://www.teenbeatrecords.com/
GET DEAD LEAVES!
February 15, 2003 at 10:24 am #91027Hey SG, I’ll definitely check out dead leaves… The CD store that I bought Secret Swingers from also had 2 Cents + Tax, so I might have to take another trip out there sometime.
Just did some more looking for Stars and it looks like some 3rd party folk are selling it through Amazon (Linkage).
I a little wary to buy from individuals online, but maybe I’ll look into it… My fascination to aquire Stars is all because you sent out the song "Thera" which is probably my favorite song by Versus so far…
February 15, 2003 at 10:36 am #91028Did I mention that it’s good to have a real job and to be back in the black, financially speaking…

Now that I have CD money, I’m gonna have to comb through the hundreds of these "just bought" posts to see what I need to get next… How’s "Master & Everyone" anyway… Might have to find that one…

U-Roy: Rasta Ambassador (cd)
Lee "Scratch" Perry: The Return Of Pipecock Jackxon (lp)

Pretenders: I + II (lp)Yes, I was very happy about "The Return Of…" cos I hadn´t seen and heard that album for years. Was Perry´s first release after the burning of his "Black Ark" in Jamaica. He went to amsterdam that time, left Jamaica after the loss of that studio. Well, another tragic studio-story.
Oh yes, as U might have guessed, I´m collecting Reggae- and Ska-Albums from mainly the seventies, when music was analog!!February 26, 2003 at 11:01 am #91034Cat Power–You Are Free. I really like this album. I think she’s knocked one home with this one.
Redd Kross–Neurotica. Finally reissued.
