J is going to play at the Ancienne Belgique Club on Wednesday November 13th. His opening act will be Marco Zanetton, singing guitarist guy from the promiseful young band Superbox. So know you got two perfectly good reasons to move your ass over to the Ancienne Belgique.

hey, cool pic with J and your Band! looks like you had a cool time there
thanks for posting the link, crast & welcome

If you find the time, I think it would be interesting for many of us here, to hear something about how the gig was (about the gig of the support act, too, of course!? )

about the gig: he kind of played the same songs as in holland i think. i also remember him playing ‘just like heaven’, but then again i’m not sure cause i might have been a bit too drunk.
i have to admit the opening act – superbox – was truly amazing. i can’t find the words to express how great the solo-acoustic stuff from that one talented singer-songwriting guy was…
seriously, it was a dream come true to open for one of my heroes. i couldn’t tell him cause that would had been a bit too weird. we got to eat at the same table. our bass-player talked to j a lot, while i was talking to philip, his manager/pal. he was a great guy. only thing i talked with j about was his eq-pedal and the german band tocotronic.
that was that: now it’s time to try to meet bob mould…

hey crast, thanks a lot for the details

it’s always exciting to read about when someone had the chance to meet J
Some here would even like to hear what J is thinking about Tocotronic…

And you were doing the opening gig !? wow!

j’s idea on tocotronic.. i can’t remember. i do remember him saying they were the only german band playing in new york at the time. i think he was right. but then again kraftwerk might had been on one of their reunion tours?
