this show was fucking sick. i drove 4 hours from RI and hoboken was buried in snow. walked in and j & crew eating dinner, then adjourned to back room that held no more than 200 people. in fact the stage was just a platform that extended from the back wall. j sauntered thorugh the crowd with guitar slung, along with george and new bassist who kciked ass and looked exactly like ewan mcgregor. he used the same bass as both watt and mike johnson (the best dino bassist) used on tours. anyway, show was best i’ve ever seen. here’s the songs not really in order.

freak scenefor the encore the bassist scurried through the crowd to get more beers, while george stood behind a speaker and tinkered wit j"s faulty mesa boogie amp. j stood by himself and did the first half of that’s how it’s gitta be real casual strumming the acoustic, then the bass player got on and george sat down perfectly on cue and the second half of the song was full blown. then he said thanks, announced the last song was the wagon, and place lost it. after george sold tees (s/s black album cover for a whopping $20), a nice black/red hat and two really cool girls shirts. i told george i drove to the show alone and it was worth it, he took a second and said RHODE Island?? did you know we’re playing boston friday?" i said i did and will be there too. he just paused and said- wow that’s kinda cool," but looked as if i was nuts. i then got lost in midtown NYC getting home because i was puffing ‘dro after such a phenominal gig…

too bad we both didn’t find this place a bit sooner we could have met up at the show…maybe next tour. that show was pretty sick though. man, can’t beleive that you made the 4 hour trip in that weather! although it’s good to see someone who has their priorities in the right place.
