Hearing about the secret gig at the Cherry Bar, I was a bit up in the air about going, seeing I had worked all day and then had to attend night school. After class I felt really tired but the chance to check out J at a secret gig was to much so I decided to make the 20 min trip into town. It was about 10 pm when I rocked up to the secret venue when my worst night mare appeared:SOLD OUT!(some secret gig HA)
That wasn,t going to stop me trying to beg my way in and after 5 mins of begging I decided to give up! I waited out side for about another 5mins when I saw J rock up in his van. I immediately Called Cath(my women) so she could listen to me speak to the man. He started heading my way when I went up to him and said Hello
J: Hello, how’s it goin
trav: fine, is there any chance of getting me in?
J: just walk right in
trav: I cant, its sold out
J:i’m sorry, I cant help you but I am playing tomorrow and saturday night
Trav: yeah i know i’m coming tomorrow
J: O.k then.
And that was it, my first conversation with J, not much said but it still left a big smile on my face. He then turned to a guy and asked where he could buy some cake’s and then he was gone. I didn’t get to see that gig but I had the pleasure of catching the Friday night gig!
