      Another Australian interview:

the guy tried hard to fill the ‘spaces’ here with some own thoughts, so it’s a quite amusing read, although the conversation is within the usual tracks…

      Nothing Left To Say :)

Back in the late 80s when Dinosaur (the Jnr bit came a little later) were still on Greg Ginn’s SST label, the bio for one of their albums contained the amazing tale of how 50-odd years earlier scientists had created a speaker that was so powerful it actually killed someone.

It was quickly and quietly taken out. In the context of Dinosaur’s devastating volume at the time it was a scenario that somehow didn’t seem all that far removed from the potential or the possible. But Mascis set me straight. He says it was bullshit, thought up by someone who’d inhaled a little too much smoke. [haven’t heard this story before  FC]

Fast-forward to the bio for Mascis’ most recent effort with The Fog, Free So Free, and there’s the story of how our hero accompanied his dog on a skydiving trip conducted by the holiday camp where his pooch was staying while master J was on tour.

“That’s just a story the biographer guy made up,â€

Definitely a cool read, gotta love that story…even if it was thought up by someone who’d inhaled a little too much smoke  8)
