I saw it in the Village Voice yesterday it is a benefit or tribute or something. It is J, Cat Power solo accoustic and a couple of other bands.

The date I found is May 11th for The Fuck Cancer Benefit…gotta love that name!

J is going on at 8pm sharp til 8:30
Incidentally,

Well, I hope to go. I’ve only driven through NYC and truthfully, I’m a bit scared of the place. I grew up in small-town Texas, spent some time in northern Maine, NH, and western MA, and I now live in tranquil Upstate NY. The part of NYC that I saw while driving through was freakin’ terrifying in every sense of the word (we were looking for a public restroom in an ugly part of Queens–pretty stupid in retrospect). But if I can get my husband to go, I’m there (I sure ain’t going back to NYC alone!!!). Don’t worry, though. If we go, I’ll fill y’all in on everything.

Yeah, and that’s apparently not enough to persuade my husband to accompany me on a ride to and from NYC. And I’m sure as hell not going alone, so oh well…

i know it’s not local, but how about a trip out to cape cod to see lard zep in july ?? … think your husband would be into that ?
