aye, dont bother with fender, email squire! now thats a fantastic guitar company. one of the best guitars ive ever played was a friends squire showmaster…..really, it was really good.
April 27, 2006 at 7:50 am #115471The bad thing is, if it were B.C. Rich and you told them to do it, they would. I emailed them like three times I think, once about getting the acryllic guitars back…..few months later "now re-introducing acryllic guitars!!" I told them to start making import Ironbirds again, they did. I dont remember the third one, but they………they owe me a lot hehee. I think I should have told them to give me a guitar for free as well. Ill take a free guitar…..even if it’s a bottom of the line BCR.

"I just got pictures of a prototype model Jazzmaster that Fender is gonna make for me. It has a tune-o-matic bridge, a gold pickguard like the ’59 ones, and a purple sparkle finish and matching headstock. I’m not sure if it will be a production model yet."
There’s also a full page interview with J in a Marshall amps promo suppliment with Guitarist that’s mildly interesting.
Gotta love that news, hopefully the article shows up online sometime!

It was a few more years until I was trying to play Dinosaur stuff.Mark Knopfler was my first guitar hero.He sounded original until I heard Richard Thompson…

Message from J
I am sad to lose some old and irreplaceable guitars, most of them older than me. One was a prototype for my first signature series Jazzmaster which Fender is putting out, and some old trusty guitars that survived my house burning a few years ago. Sitting in the rubble of my basement after the fire went out my main Jazzmaster was completely black from smoke and singed by the fire but when I picked it up it was still in tune. I’ll miss em.

i know i feel really bad for him
September 7, 2006 at 12:55 pm #115479Maybe he didn’t tell you anything because your email to Fender was not very professional looking. You should use spell checker before sending those emails man!
Regardless, it would be cool to have a J signed guitar. It would probably be out of all of our price ranges though

besides im a slacker go fig huh
yah i was gonna save up for a 59 but i think if they do come out with it i could probably get it what they reissue are what 1500 i think js gonna be around 2000 if its american made knowing fender theyll probably try to get it made it crappy mexicoSeptember 8, 2006 at 2:02 am #115481don’t think I’m bashing you here, but….why all the hate for a guitar that is made in a different country? You know, you hear it all the time, "I wont play these guitars because they’re made in Korea." Why? Every Korean Squier that I have ever played has been better than any fender that I have played. China makes some good stuff too, my Epiphone is Chinese (the V) and it’s by far my fastest/best playing guitar that I own. I just dont understand why people start hating guitars because of where they come from. Did you play a couple bad guitars from Mexico? I have played a few hundred if not a thousand guitars by now, just by playing every guitar in the store every time I go. My least favorite guitars are the new US ones. I would like anything but those please, they are after money now, not happy customers (because of quality). I dont know…..my thoughts I guess.

im
just saying
i dont mind japanesse guitars i think some of them are made fairly well old tokais are awsome!
its just that they when they are made in other countries they use cheaper woods electronics they cut corners and sometimes feel and sound cheap its nothing to do about where there made to me its about quality and it seems that the american fenders *to me feel a bit better*
i think fenders quality has gotten alot better since cbs sold fender but still the one ones are the best!
i have a 64 tele and omg its awsome but id trade it for a 59 jazzmaster i know id be losing money on it but ive always wanted one *if i could find one
