July 6, 2007 at 5:38 pm #115564I just ordered one from a great guitar shop (Huber & Breesehttp://www.huberbreese.com”>Breesehttp://www.huberbreese.com ) in my area (Michigan). They are selling it to me for $820, plus tax. The case is going to run $135. He met with his Fender rep today, and I should have it by the end of next week.
Buying guitars is always such a pain in the ass. The guy in the thread on offsetguitars said he was told $720. I wanted the guitar bad, so I said yeah to $820. Should I try to talk him down? I never really feeling comfortable doing that. If any iof you guys get prices, please let me know, I’d feel more comfortable saying hey, I’ll give you $750 if I know some of you guys are getting one for that price. Maybe me getting one for $820 will give some of you guys some leverage.
Sam Ash has them going for $839.99

July 8, 2007 at 8:55 pm #115566Is it American made or not?
July 8, 2007 at 9:57 pm #115567It’s not listed on Fender’s Site. It may just be a model someone thinks J might like. I like it. It looks prettty cool and judging by it’s price it’s probably not american made, but I don’t know.
Does it actually have a signature on it?
July 9, 2007 at 10:22 am #115568does any one know if this guitar will be available in Australia and the approximate price??
July 9, 2007 at 2:16 pm #115569Hmmm a basswood body, either this is Japanese or Fender used it because its cheaper than alder. I still wish we had more info on it.
edit
Just got off the phone with SamAsh, they called Fender and it is made in Japan. Which leads me to believe the pick ups will need to be swapped out.
I can’t believe J would play those Japanese pickups. Hmmm.
July 9, 2007 at 7:45 pm #115570Well, I’ll wait to hear more info, but I’m surprised Jay would agree to do a signature Japan series. Oh well.
July 10, 2007 at 9:55 am #115571I got an email last night from the consumer relations guy at Fender I’ve been dealing with. He said that all the info on samash’s site is correct. The guitar is made in Japan and will have Japanese pickups. But the pickups aren’t the ones in typical Japanese models, these pickups are made to J’s specifications. So they might be alright after all.
Just got another response from Fender, these guitars are not going to be limited. It will seem like it at first because of demand, but stocks should level out after about a month. Great news!
July 10, 2007 at 5:18 pm #115572I’m saving my nickels and dimes starting right now. Do you think people would be weirded out if a 28 year old dude came to their door asking if they needed their lawn mowed. I will get one of these, they look killer and I’m sure they’ll sound awesome too.
July 12, 2007 at 8:09 am #115573HELP ! Urgent where can I get one of these in the UK? Any ideas on a shop/website? I need one!

Christmas has come early . .. .
July 13, 2007 at 11:57 am #115574Does anyone know the exact release date on the guitar?
