Sam ash should have them now or early next week. I don’t think a specific date is set for release, Fender just noted that they started shipping them this month.
I talked again with Fender consumer relations and they don’t know about availabilty in Europe, I guess they only deal with the U.S. and Canada. Sorry guys.

Christmas has come early . .. .

I e-mailed Sam Ash about shipping to UK.
No can do…
Early days yet though, I’m sure it will hit Europe at some point…..
July 13, 2007 at 4:56 pm #115577So, where’s the lefty one… Everybody treats us like outsiders.
We always have to pay much more for everything. If it even exist…
And I’m not a left hander.
I just play that way. It’s not my fault.July 13, 2007 at 5:31 pm #115578mind glow,
just rock it like Jimi or Dick Dale.
July 14, 2007 at 7:09 am #115579Hmmm. Is it only me, or is this Jap ‘Signature’ JM the guitar equivalent of a pimpmobile? I mean, purple glitter?? Kinda gay.
AND made in Japan? So Fender gets a grand or so for what is really something like a Squier Jazzmaster!
Hate to say it, but this is a rip-off folks, cashing in on those of us who are hardcore Dino fans.
Resist the temptation, and buy a REAL guitar is my advice.
July 14, 2007 at 8:56 am #115580no, cashing in on Dino fans would be selling the signature model for thousands, like David Gilmour’s doing with his.
Japanese Fenders are good. not as good as Americans of course, but miles better than the Mex models. comparing them to Squiers is totally unfair. and with a bit of setting up pretty much any Japanese can measure up to an American fairly well, probably for less of the price. My Jaguar’s japanese, and not a hundred miles off an American model.
i’m glad J’s doing a signature model. an artist series model that isn’t a Strat or Tele is just the kind of thing Fender, and the jazzmaster, need. and he’s keeping it real by not charging us a packet for buying it, probably because he himself knows that if you’re an aspiring guitarist, presumably the kind he wants to appeal to as well as collectors and the like, you won’t want to pay an arm and a leg for it.

July 14, 2007 at 9:59 am #115581It sure is a nice guitar. I don’t think the purply spark is femme at all, coming from my pov that color could represent alot of things. The only way I’ll ever be able to get one is if they park one on the side of the road.
July 14, 2007 at 10:34 am #115582I think it looks more pink than purple. Well, purple is the the colour of gay. Don’t know why or where that stems from. Gay could be any color as far as I’m concerned

July 14, 2007 at 11:58 am #115584I just brought mine home. Its actually much darker purple then I expected. Doesn’t look pink at all.
All the guys in the guitar shop were checking it out. They all seemed to be impressed with how unique the guitar looks.
I’m off to play it.

July 14, 2007 at 12:57 pm #115586People don’t turn purple, unless they’re suffocating or abused, so I don’t know how you can compare that color to a homosexual. If you see people walking around who are orange, it’s that sunlight that turned them gay.
Then again, guitars are asexual, unless there’s some cool thing people do with them I don’t know about.

That guitar is awesome, but why not J’s signature on the front???
July 14, 2007 at 1:43 pm #115587I love the guitar. It blows away a CIJ Jazzmaster I bought about 10 years ago. It’s not as nice as a Custom Shop Strat I have, but its a heck of a lot closer then I thought it would be(quality wise).
Sounds great too. The pick ups are much better then the ones that came in my CIJ. Plays great, feels great. I just have to get used to those jumbo frets.
The bridge is nice too. A big improvement over the stock bridges. The floating term seems tighter then my other Jazzmaster.
July 14, 2007 at 2:15 pm #115588well let’s not make a big point about the homosexual color thing. I was refering to a text (which I of course can’t find) where purple and a triangl were said to be symbols for gay. It might have been about teletubbies. So, no I’m not saying that a universial symbol has a new meaning just cause a organisation or whatever adopts it. As far as I know, color or color preferance is still not a determiner for sexual orientation.
back to the guitar.
July 14, 2007 at 2:53 pm #115589even if it was "gay" why the fuck would anyone who isn’t a total bigot care? if it handles and sounds good, and the player at the neck is good, why should it matter? geez.
