Mew’s a relatively unknown band in spite of have released 3 amazing indie records. In Denmark we kinda feel it’s our little band and have always enjoyed concerts in small venues, but apperentlty many new things are going to happen.

quote from Damon Tutunjian (The swirlies):

The new MEW CD is done and my jaw dropped when I heard it. They have truly outdone themselves this time. Can’t stop listening to it. Mewsite.com is their website. I think it is coming out in September. I made the final cut on one track – the first single (phew). J mascis and Rege’s lady sing on it too.

as said the new album mew will feature a duet with J Mascis and a stream has just recently been put up

      Check it out

      here

The song is called "Why are you looking Grave?"

          very interesting news! :!:
so we’ll look out for the new Mew album, when it will come out in September. can’t wait to hear the song, as J adds also vocals, not guitar as he does more often on cooperation tracks. and the Mew album sounds interesting to check out. curious now :)

I don’t know if there’s been a misunderstanding here, cause you can listen to the song. Just follow the link :D

And if you wanna check mew out you can listen to their latest album on the official site: http://www.mewsite.com the song “Am I wry? No blew me totally away after listening to it a couple of times

As I just read the journal more carefully, I found out, that he’ll feature on 2 songs on the new album. Maybe he will lay down an awesome guitar track on the other song.

This is really big for me. In spite of not being an active member here, I’ve really been a dedicated dino fan, so my two favourite bands together are quite big :D .

When they play live, he sings along on a video-backdrop

Hey, Anthony, what an eye you have, I just saw this quote from the post above yours, I wonder if the two (your question + this) are related? :D

                I think your right.

Same here – I may not be too active here or on Mew’s forum, but Dinosaur Jr and Mew are my two favourite bands, both having made music that means so much to me, inspired me to learn the guitar (in Dinosaur’s case) and soundtracked big moments in my life. It’s almost surreal to have just found out J’s guesting on two tracks! Can’t wait to see Mew in Nottingham… even though it’s a four-and-a-half-hour-plus drive for me like the London Forum Dino gig was.

And I can definitely recommend "Frengers" to the uninitiated – certainly one of my most listened to and favourite albums of all-time. Worth searching for Mew’s first two albums too, the excellent A Triumph For Man (1997) and Half The World Is Watching Me (2000). They’re long out of print and fetch crazy prices on ebay, but you can find them with filesharing software such as eMule.

didn’t have time to check out the song until now, and I agree it’s pleasing :) …I mean, I wouldn’t detect J to take part there if I wouldn’t know, but it put Mew on my radar, and that seems to be quite a good thing :)🙂 gonna check the music on their site next.
