There was a period of a couple years there where J was sporting some loud, pretty killer smoking jackets and other assorted retro blazers and the like. I think it was Mike Johnson’s influence, as he was a sharp retro dresser there for a while, with the fedoras and all. That was only a brief interlude, though, before J reverted to Wayne’s World.

Haha, I saw a couple pictures of J all dressed up like that. Pretty cute, I must say.

I have to admit though, his choice of tie-dyed wildlife t-shirts do tend to make me laugh. I’m quite excited to see what he wears to the Baltimore show :D

Haven’t seen a good cowboy hat in a while, and his snakeskin shoes.

I guess his T-shirts go with the card I sent him:

          I hope he liked it.

That’s actually pretty badass! And that looks like a recent picture, too — maybe Lou is getting on J’s case about his "fashion sense"? I read a recent interview with Lou where he was talking about how it’s important for guys to dress well — he said that’s how he hooked up with his wife — and was saying that the first things a guy has got to get rid of are band t-shirts. Then again, he didn’t say that it’s imperative to deep-six wolf, whale, and seal shirts…….

The man has good taste in music, the major exception of the Magik Markers aside.

I wonder if people will ever let that die

At this point I’ll keep mentioning it solely to break balls. But god, they really were the pits.

seeing the magik markers open for dinosaur 5 nights in a row was the greatest week of my life. magik markers rule.

                i’ll never let it die.

Good point — I’d say the Magik Markers are the musical equivalent of a wretched wolf-howling-at-moon shirt. Only not as aesthetically pleasing.

Okay, Detective Tubby, that’s the world trade center in the background, so that picture is about as recent
as my husbands last blow job.

Jeez, the planets on J’s lapels kept me from seeing the towers! Still, given the gray hair in the photo, that shot was taken long after J abandoned his retro look after touring "Without A Sound" — he had fully embraced the open-shirt-over-bad-t-shirt mode by the following tour.

When I saw Sugar on the Beaster tour in ’93, J & Mike Johnson were there, and were probably the sharpest-dressed motherfuckers in the place.

And give your husband my condolences.

Yeah, probably right,I was going to say as recent as the JonBenet Ramsey Murder, but changed my mind at the last moment………………..somehow everything I say today is just not right…………………….
I need to just go sit at the sewing machine and sew this evening and not say another word.
