For some reason I have become curious about what she looks like
is there a good picture of her anywhere?I am just as curious as you are, my friend. In fact, I was just about to post a topic about J’s wife, Louisa, asking more about her. There seems to be little to no information on the net over Louisa; even nothing concerning the wedding that took place between her and Mascis. I’d like to at least think that SOMEONE was there to take pictures. Maybe not??? I hear that J and Louisa were married by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma). Exactly what year did this wedding take place? I’ve yet to find out…
I think they got married in mid-2004. I am pretty sure when we saw him in Oct of 04 with the Fog in Knoxville, he had a wedding band and my husband and I were baffled. I could be a little foggy on the dates though.

My brother happened to witness the wedding ceremony, as he’s an Amma devotee. I can’t remember when, exactly, but summer 2004 sounds about right.

Yeah, I guess that was her at the Witch show–they just both seemed much taller than what I remember from the Providence show.

Two young girls were there from Amherst, Ma……….When they introduced themselves I said "Amherst,Ma,the home of J Mascis……………thats great" and one looked at the other and said is that that new restaurant on pleasant?So certainly not Bennifer.
no offense to Mrs. Mascis, but I dont see what the fuss is over her. She’s probably just a normal woman who happens to be married to a very talented musician. The only reason we don’t know a lot about her is because J isn’t super famous like other rock musicians. His relative obscurity in pop culture has allowed he and his wife the proper level of annonymity and privacy that they need.
I think I might have met her once… I’m not sure… it was outside the 6th of June London forum gig, 2004? I saw J and went to egt him to sign something and there was a few people there and I think she was one of them. She said my [homemade] DInosaur shirt was oggd, then after the gig came out to one of the crew and pointed me out and got him to give me a setlist

she looks like winona ryder! they look really happy to be together… i’ll bet it was a neat wedding! a lot nicer then a voodoo wedding like my friends just did..i know! it would be more flattering if she had some spaghetti coming out of her nose. i was talking about the picture of the wedding…
