My birthday is tomorrow but I got some money early so I bought some cd`s:
Buffalo Tom-Besides(nice comp of b sides with some great cover songs by MBV,Bob Dylan,Spinanes,Rolling Stones,Velvet Underground,George Harrison)
Karate-The Bed Is In The Ocean(heard some songs by them on AG,kinda indie meets jazz fusion)
Superchunk-Incidental Music-1991-95(Superchunk cd`s are hardly around here so it`s good to get it,cool comp of singles and comp tracks)

Palace is great music indeed,Viva Last Blues is a good album,my fav is either Days In The Wake or Lost Blues And Other Songs;DITW is mosty just Will by himself with his acoustic on a 4 track;Lost Blues is a comp of singles, some of his best songs I think.Arise Therefore is pretty amazing as well,it was my fav album of 1996.Hope is another good one, just 6 songs but it`s beautiful stuff

MBV`s Loveless is one of the best albums ever next to Dino`s Bug and Husker Du`s New Day Rising.

Picked up a cool DVD yesterday while buying a really emBEARassing cd for a present. Novocaine starring Steve Martin, story about a dentist gone bad…will look at dentists differently now on a number of levels Interesting extraction job at the end Laura Dern is hilarious in this one, Keith David as a bizarre cop, I just love his voice!!! The extras are cool as well, the bit on Forensic Dentistry

That cd was a certain great big celtic band from the east coast of Canada Fathers day present, my dad is Irish Canadian…he can’t help himself

VF-too bad you had to buy that great big celtic band but at least your dad will like it Newfoundland also had a great non celtic band called Hardship Post that got signed to Sub Pop years ago,I `ll send a song on our AG group by them someday.

Hey SG,

It was pretty painful to buy that disc, they actually play here a lot…ick

Strange thing thou, my father was talking about how much he enjoyed Newfoundland last evening. Stayed a couple extra days to check out some of the local music…shocked me, didn’t know he had it in him Looking forward to that song, once my satellite on ag stops messing with me

I better get some sleep b4 I start kicking some satellites virtual something or other

Allison
