October 14, 2006 at 8:00 pm #73577Tenacious D in Detroit later next month. Has anyone ever seen them live? I know they won’t be Dinoloud, but was considering taking my son who likes them. Is it too much for a little guy to handle?
ThanksOctober 15, 2006 at 5:32 pm #73578december 1 – NYC – dinosaur jr

ThanksAwww that is so sweet. How old is your little guy? I’ve never seen Tenacious D live but I know what it’s like to go to shows with your parents.

ThanksMy wife would kick my ass if I took our son to see the D. The show I saw was very adult with curse words and questionable video content. Unless you want your son to see Jables give KG a BJ. Have fun though it should be rad.

October 21, 2006 at 8:11 am #73584Girl and Tonas,
My son is almost 3, but he loves music. Anytime we leave the house, he says" Daddy, I grab cd’s". He’ll say "Daddy, I want J on", "Daddy, I bring Jimi", "Daddy, I want piano(which means Nick Cave)", or "DaddyI want Amma on". Lately, its been "I wanna watch Flaming Lips" . As I write, he’s asking me to "Put the D on"! He loves the Greatest Song in the World. He even walks around reenacting the video. It’s so funny watching him rip off his shirt the exact ame time as JB does in the video as he sings along.
With his age, I was worried about the volume, but didnt even consider the adult content. I figured if it was an all ages show, the content wouldnt be so bad. I wasnt really worried about the words in the songs because thats not a huge deal. I’ve seen them on SNL and the Tribute vid, and knew that was no big deal. I’ve seen them dancing around in the underwear in some live vid before too, but figured that no big deal either. The other stuff like Jables blowing KG however isnt so cool. Its funny when your kid is ripping off his shirt imitating a video, not so cute if he’s imitating that kind of stuff!
I guess I’ll have to wait to the next J acoustic show!
Thanks for the heads up.
Thank,
