Are the Pogues doing a big US tour, or is it a NY, Chicago, LA deal?
Dates and venues are:
* March 5 & 6 – Congress Theatre / Chicago, IL
* March 10 – Avalon / Boston, MA
* March 11 – Orpheum / Boston, MA
* March 14 – Roseland Ballroom / New York, NY
* March 16 – Electric Factory / Philadelphia, PA
* March 17 – Roseland Ballroom / New York, NYLast March they played Boston, NYC, Atlantic City, and DC. Then in the fall they hit Vegas, SF, LA, and maybe Anaheim (playing at least two shows in each city). I think a third Boston show has been added at the Avalon and wouldn’t be surprised if a DC show materializes. They played 4 nights running in NYC last year. Tickets went on sale last Saturday and are already gone for most of the shows. Good for them.
January 25, 2007 at 6:24 pm #73604I’m glad to hear that he’s in better shape now. I was amazed at how f*cked up he seemed at times. There was this clip circulating the net some years ago, where he was supposed to do an interview with a tv station -but he never made it out of make up. That was sad sad sad.

Actually, I should say *tried* to promote a Popes show — Shane was so off his head at the airport in London that the airline refused to allow him to fly, and much of the tour was cancelled (that wasn’t the first time that’s happened, either). It’s remarkable that he’s still with us. He hasn’t written a damn thing in ages, though.
