I was listening to Martin and Me this morning and realized that the lyrics are I’ll see you in the lodge flying cloud. I always thought it was large but now I think its lodge. Because I was always told it was about skiing and now it makes more sense.
hey, funny you should say that b/c like you i had always thought the line was, "i’ll see ya in the large flying cloud" … which, you’re right, doesn’t make v.much sense … so as i was standing right in front of j last night + he started playing this song, i instantly thought about this post + i was waiting for those last few lines + yep … you’re right … it’s most definitely "lodge" and not "large"

I read this post for the first time just yesterday and I put "Flying Cloud" on repeat………….over and over it went, while I puttered around the house putting up laundry etc…. Then a knock at my door. Two older, very sweet, African American women looking for an address (not mine) as I was trying to help them figure out where they needed to be, one of them looked up at me and said "Lord, that fellow couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket" the other with eyes closed just shook her head back and forth and said a "M,M.mmmmmmmm"
You know they got into their car and said "Those white folks music is crazy" I could just see it on their faces.
