primus w/ rasputina at the roseland

ok, now i don’t know why primus decided to have an opening act – but they did..unfortunately some people in the crowd were complete assheads and decided to heckle and throw shit at them instead of just waiting it out…ok, so here we are now approaching 9 pm and the crowd – which seems a little large for the roseland – is growing restless, getting hot, drunk, high, what have you..primus comes out at 9:15 plays 3 songs then stops the show because the barricades in front of the stage have collapsed from the livliness of the crowd..so, we wait about 15 minutes for them to re-secure the barricade the band comes back out and plays for about another half hour or so and then the lights come on and 3500 people are looking at each other saying "is that it?"
ok, don’t get me wrong, i had a good time, enjoyed the music when they were playing music, danced my ass off but..it just seemed a little short – and the way it just ended so abruptly was just confusing…i mean a lot of people just stood there because they couldn’t believe it was over. oh well

They toured with Marilyn Manson and I think NIN so I`m sure they got some less than friendly reception from some of those audiences too.
I have their first album Thanks For The Ether around here somewhere. They cover Peggy Lee`s Why Don`t You Do Right and Melanie`s Brand New Key which are both cool.

…wasn’t last night but eye saw Death Cab for Cutie a few nights ago, missed Ted Leo and the Pharmacists due to traffic, Emo kids drive slow, the show was good, they rocked out a bit and played all the hits but i dug the few older songs i knew best, specifically Company Calls because it’s about stealing the plastic wedding figurines from an ex-lovers wedding cake and melting them down to drink them in. I like that idea, i dig weddings but couldn’t goto my best friend’s because part of me will always be in love with her and if i had went i would have gotten drunk and probably done something not as cool but a scene would have been made so i didnb’t go as a present to her mom who hates me and forbid her to hang out with me in high school telling her i showed tendancies of a cult leader, but Death Cab is a decent band they make me happy with all their saddness, the singer guy ragged on a mini drum kit drurring the music explosion part of We looked like giants it was fun, the funniest part of the show were all the kids with cell phones, they were holding them up practically the whole show, so you pay 30 dollars to goto a concert and then watch it through a two inch scene you hold in your hand, sounds about silly…

                    Eagles Of Death Metal.
Simply put, it was quite possibly the best rock & roll show I’ve ever seen.
Jesse Hughes is probably the coolest frontman of any band this side of Hank Von Helvete.
The result of cross breeding Elvis and the energizer bunny, he joked, laughed, was in awe, rocked and shook his dick as hard as he could(his own words,) during their stigmata inducing set.
                    Go see them.

Last night I tried to see The Pogues, but the show was canceled because MacGowan had fallen and hurt his leg — all bombed, of course — at a show in Boston two nights earlier. What a loser.

yes, I remember hearing that they got booed during the Manson tour. people are idiots. SG, have you heard their live cover of Barracuda? pretty awesome 8)

I saw Christina Aguilera last week! I’m sure everyone here will poo-pooh that, but let me tell you, if she did on a guitar what she does with her voice, everyone would be kissing her ass.

Hope you enjoyed that. :) I’d give my high E vocal register to see her. Genie in the Bottle, What A Girls wants and Beautiful are my favorite songs out of that genre.

The FREE channel on satellite played a couple of concerts by Nine Inch Nails and the Cure. They were great.
