Tom Waits was great last nite, not sure what song he did but it was very cool!!! Always a cool interview as well, told stories about being a volunteer driver with the school…kids like him, radio blasting and he takes the corners fast
Talked about driving the kids to a music store, expected to be recognized….but no Took the kids to the dump the next week and 12 guys surrounded his vehicle Odd Allison

Allison

Neil Young is playing two festivals in Germany the weekend after this one (with Booker T. & the MG’s as band). One of these festivals "Rock am Ring" (May 17th) will be extensively covered on German TV, channel WDR3 !!!!!I quite like the latest NY album, some very fine tracks on it, especially the title track and "Goin’ Home" a new NY & Crazy Horse-classic! (he played that song two times during the last show of his European tour last year in Rotterdam….)
And some late night thrills for tonight: ‘Later’ on BBC2 features Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

May 12, 2002 at 3:09 pm #82595Hey!
Not bad vintage Iggy and The Hives
Caught a Hives interview with a Canadian geek called Narduar (?sp) it was pretty cool, although they looked a little confused about Narduar…no surprise Hope you get a chance to check out that show with Neil Young…would be sweet. He sounded great, better than he has in awhile in my opinion. Morning paper here has a review of the new biography on Neil Young…Shakey by Jimmy McDonough. Don’t know if my short attention span can handle 786 pages It was authorized by Young but seems he changed his mind and tried to block it legally…no luck I guess The review calls it the definitive biography…hmmm

May 12, 2002 at 4:50 pm #82596May 12, 2002 at 5:13 pm #82597Narduar fronts a band called the Evaporators;he once dissed Dino in a song about Neil Young strange though he sounds kinda like Artie Sinatra who sang on Dino`s cover of Neil`s Lotta Love.

Tomorrow night (somewhere after midnight) on german station ARD: Neil Young at the ‘Rock am Ring’ festival!!!!!!
May 18, 2002 at 11:57 pm #82601Wow, I just saw the full concert Neil Young gave tonight at the ‘Rock am Ring’ Festival on German television, it lasted about three hours and it ROCKED!!!! Neil was playing electric the whole gig, great band as well (including Booker T. on Hammond B3). It was obviously quite cold at that time of night at the legendary Nürburgring, because Neil looked liked some mighty old steam engine running on full steam!!!
