This is from September, it may have been posted elsewhere on the site. He talks about J & Dinosaur Jr’s influence on the music scene, The Pixies & the bonus track issue, which makes it relevant today

I’m just posting the bits of the interview related to the reissues you can find the rest of the interview thru this link…mundanesounds.com
JK: Well, there’s one more thing that I wanted to ask. How do you feel about the upcoming Dinosaur Jr. reissues?
LB: I feel great!
JK: Are there any lost tapes that we’ll get to hear?
LB: I found one cassette of us doing a Neil Young cover, but I put that on my website, but that’s the only thing I can think of. We released everything that we finished. Anything that J Mascis finished we ended up putting out.
JK: Personally, I’m excited about it.
LB: It would be nice if people really understood how insanely influential J Mascis was as a guitar player and a songwriter, because I think that he almost single-handedly invented…you know that Radiohead song “Creepâ€
December 20, 2004 at 3:31 pm #106704Thanks for posting that. It’s really interesting. Especially encouraging to hear Lou talk about J so positively.
I quietly have my hopes really high that the old band will get back together for a reunion show or two after the reissues are released.

Throwing Muses scary
on the first album especially
Lou`s dislike of The Pixies I don`t agree with but he does`nt like GBV either so what does he know
I agree that Dino does`nt get the kind of credit The Pixies get.December 20, 2004 at 7:42 pm #106706hehehe, thought you might like that TM’s deal

Wonder what Murph has to say about the reissues?
Would be unbelievably pleasing if there was a reunion show around the reissue release, dunno though, haven’t heard anything about it. There is an article on the site somewhere where J was asked that question, he responded NO. But who knows, I did find something on the creem site today, little bit on the side of a Sebadoh reunion interview from June 2004
Dinosaur Archaeology?
When the upcoming Merge Records reissues of the first three Dinosaur Jr. albums surface, might there be a possibility of a reunion of J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph? Barlow isn’t ruling it out.
A mutual friend of Mascis and Barlow is "desperately trying to engineer a Dinosaur reunion," Barlow said.

"I can’t imagine picking up a fucking Rickenbacker bass and playing it through a Marshall on 10 and trying to compete with J’s guitar on stage. That seems just so surreal to me at this point. But who knows? Weirder things have happened," he said.
Barlow said he found out that the reissue project was happening when he contacted Merge himself to see if they would be interested in releasing his upcoming solo album.
"J never approached me about it, but then I never expected that he would," Barlow said. He mentioned that there had been talk of him writing the liner notes to one of the records, but that he declined.
"I think that what I have had to say about Dinosaur over the years was so insanely negative. I’m proud of being a part of Dinosaur now and all that stuff, but it’s probably best that I keep my mouth shut. I think I said too much," he said.
When Sebadoh shared the bill with Mascis
at a benefit for an autism centre Barlows mom works, there was no Dinosaur reunion. There was, however, a reunion of Deep Wound, the pre-Dinosaur band that featured Barlow and Mascis.December 27, 2004 at 1:34 pm #106707This show was recorded, right? Any recording of the deep wound part?
December 28, 2004 at 4:15 pm #106708Looks like FreesoFree.net will have the Deep Wound audio up soon, as well as some Sonic Youth from the show. Here’s a link to the info @ FreesoFree.net

I agree that Dino does`nt get the kind of credit The Pixies get.WRONG FACT ! Lou has always been a great GBV Fan & supporter (many interviews prove that in which he says that Robert Pollard is an amazing songwriter etc) – you mixed him up Jason (Sebadoh bass player) who never really thought GBV are too interesting…
January 24, 2005 at 8:55 am #106711No,I remember in a `95 interview he said GBV should have a horn section
he did`nt seem very positive on them.Maybe he`s grown to like them since then. -
