Anybody…….Can’t believe Bucky didn’t jump all over this one.

Hint: This guy replaced Eric Clapton in the Bluesbreakers, he also wrote a song made famous by Santana…

…that should be Peter Green (also considering some recent posts in other topics), don’t know anything of his stuff (apart from some classic Fleetwood Mac instrumentals ::)), could Google it, but that spoils the fun….. :)

He’s the man, top 20 all time in my opinion. Thanks for the "no Google" thing too, I enjoy the challenge.

        Here’s a little newer one:

That pencil smell reminds me of school
The clock on the wall I can no longer fool.
Time to get in my car, been so dull, tired and tight.
Time to trust these old tires, time to not say goodnight

        Anyone……..

Lemonheads – Ride with me 8)

…Evan Dando does a great solo version of it on his "Live at the Brattle Theatre" album…

          How about this (short) one?

          Ring! ring! it’s 7:00 a.m.!

Why, that’s The Clash with The Magnificent Seven! Good one.

And hey, just ordered Mermaid Avenue (Billy Bragg/Wilco)! Literally, CAN NOT WAIT to get my hands on it….

This one’s a little older and ANOTHER one of my "top 50 all time":

The crowd without a face begins to fill the space
            In the arena
Flashlights at his feet the lion from the street
            Awaits the Christians

Must be good old Bob Seeger

              and this one:

I heard the ancient songs of sadness, but every step I thought of you
Every foot step only you Every star a grain of sand

Every Grain Of Sand by Bob Dylan? Giant Sand do a great cover of that.

                  Nope… It´s `Mad about you` by Sting, lovely lyrics.

Can imagine `grain of sand` though. How about the cover by E. Harris

They went down to the river
                    On a warm summer night
The air was think with the
                    Smell of temptation

Should be an easy one for Freaksceners…….

                        think, thick, tick,….damn Heinekin…..

Well, I really like Nirvana’s cover better but, that’s a SWEEET Meat Puppets tune: Plateau…..Coolness…..

Let’s stay in the same vein:

I’ve got a lot of thoughts
                        Got a lot of plans
I lost a lot of sleep
                        Trying to understand

                        In a blackened room
                        Staring into space
                        Underneath a thousand blankets
                        Just to find a place

Next cryptic hint: It’s from an album which title suggests an appointment with a quite famous singer (or was it just the guy working at the chipshop…… ;D ;))
