So my parents have been pressuring me to take a class this summer, "just one, so you stay in school mode." And I’ve been resistin’ this because I’ve decided I like having summers to be summers.

At least until the other day when My history teacher told me he was doing an English history class. The class runs for two weeks, consists of a single paper and a journal, is equivelent to 3 or 4 credits, and costs $1800.

Did I mention that this English History class takes place in London and York?

hehehe, I’m’a Sending off for my Passport tommorow.

      :D :D :D :D

Yeah, that’s cool. I’m going to Britain for three weeks in about a week. Going to some key historical sites like the Battle of Hastings as well as Canterbury. Want to check out Hadrian’s Wall. And Notthingham. I think I watched the Disney version of Robin Hood too much when I was a kid. At Notthingham Castle there is a pub that has been around since the 13th century that people stopped off at on their way to the Crusades. I think most Americans probably have no conception of history, at least compared to Europeans. I mean, Jamestown wasn’t until 1607.

Shit, I think I could spend the whole time in London alone and not be done. I think this will be the first of many trips. I love the English landscape as well as the buildings/architecture. I would also like to see some of middle class Britain. Just the suburbs or something, like in "Keeping up Appearances". In movies all you ever see are rich bastards or working class people yelling at each other.

Sounds good, I gotta get warmed up for my intensive study of British pub culture. . .
