Anybody from the boards heading to this show? I’m taking my younger brother to what will be his first gig, all my friends backed out because we have an exam the next day….. dickheads
May 19, 2006 at 6:18 am #117490nah pal, going to Bristol though. invented a hugely important work meeting there in order to get over from London in time.
May 19, 2006 at 5:57 pm #117491hi alice,
i’ll be going. by my total self. i bought myself single tickets for manchester and birmingham after being a bit pissed off
with waiting for other people to committ to camber sands that it sold out.i got a bit sick of saying to people ‘want to come and see dinosaur’ instead of people saying it to me. sad in it. maybe i was just thinking .. if i ask anyone they’ll say yes but it’ll be me buying the tickets. so screwj.. is going on my ownsome.
send me a text if you like it’s 07986686606.
vickyMay 20, 2006 at 5:54 am #117492I’m going to the Birmingham show with my partner. The tickets for ATP were way too expensive so we were very happy to see these dates come up. I’m very much looking forward to it. Anyone else thats going to the Birmingham show should probably know they have moved the show from the Academy to the Academy 2, I mailed the Academy and its going to be 600 people MAX and its not even sold out yet so its going to be a small show.
So are we the only people going to the UK shows? I haven’t seen anyone else anywhere else on the net say they are going and I’ve yet to read any reviews or opinions on the Scottish shows.
Anyway, can’t wait untill Monday!Been Insane
May 20, 2006 at 7:03 am #117493Yeh I havn’t heard anythin about the scottish shows and the manchester gig isn’t sold out and I saw tickets goin on ebay stupidly cheap so I guess there just gonna be small shows which is fine by me. Just 24 hours now, I’ve been waiting for so long to see them again. I would have tried to get to the other shows but I havn’t passed my drivin test yet which sucks…. Javro I like your style haha
Hi Vicky, i would send u a text but i don’t have a mobile, I’ll be there with a black dino t-shirt and quite long hair though if u see me…. sterotypically that could account for half the audience though :-
May 20, 2006 at 12:18 pm #117494Well I hope you have a real great time tommorow and I look forward to hearing about the show. I’ll hopefully be bringing a digital camera to the show so i’ll see if I can get some good pics. Any of you guys have any idea the time J, Lou and Murph usually turn up at the venue at? I have a free day on Monday so wouldnt mind hanging round to see them getting there.
Still haven’t seen anything about the Scottish shows or the ATP festival but if I find anything i’ll post it here.
Been InsaneOh yeah, do you think they will be selling shirts and stuff at the show, I wouldn’t mind picking one up if they are.
May 20, 2006 at 1:40 pm #117495Yeh i really want to get that white mountain man shirt and i wouldn’t mind that zip hoodle they have on the site too. I’ll post a little review and setlist after the show and say what they’re selling if you want me to, I was wondering whether they might bust out a new track but I won’t count on it.
I don’t know what time they’ll be getting there but lots of people on the boards said that they wonder around the stage floor after the show so if you dont see them it might be wise to wait around, I won’t be able to though because it’s a long drive back home and i’m up early in the morning
May 20, 2006 at 1:46 pm #117496Yeah a setlist and what they are selling would be cool to know also if you get an idea of the prices that would be good too (Always best to know how much to bring). I’ll hang around for a while after the show and see if they show up. Fingers Crossed!
Shame your not going to the Birmingham show aswell. Could have a Dinosaur Meet

Did find a small bit of info from ATP on J, no Dino info though…

May 22, 2006 at 10:59 am #117498My god…. last night was one of the best in my life. They played does it float and mountain man near the end and they blew me away. The raisans sludgefeast combo was awesome too, heres the set

Bulbs Of Passion
In A Jar
The Wagon
Lung
Little Fury Things
No Bones
Forget The Swan
Budge
Lose
Raisans
SludgefeastFreakscene
Mountain ManDoes It Float
Just Like HeavenThis was the best show i’ve ever seen, I was stood in front of J the whole time and it was amazing to see him soloing up close. I’ve taken quite a few photos which i’ll post once i get my brother’s camera.
After the show finished I saw Kevin packing up all the gear so I shouted him and he gave me one of J’s used pic’s a broken drumstick and on of lou’s picks, I love that guy

Then after buying a couple of t-shirts i went round the back of the venue to see if I could catch the band, so me and my brother waited there for about 20 minutes and I saw Dan Mapp? the tour manager and asked him if i could get YLAOM signed and he ended up giving me and my brother back stage passes to go meet the band…. I will ever be in debt to that man!
We went in and I saw J and Lou and when I got J’s signature I couldn’t think of anything to say cos i was so nervous so i just sed that was the best show ever then he just sed thanks alot…. and that was it
I talked to Lou for a bit… he was much easier to approach and he sed they would definetly be coming back to england again and that the album was going really slow. I thanked him for screaming so much on Does It Float and he was really nice. Unforuntatley I didn’t get to meet Murph but it still was the greatest night ever for me.BeenInsane: The shirts were ?15 and they had the purple monster shirt, the white dinosaur shirt, black j lou and murph shirt, and the blue zombie worm shirt. They were also selling the first 3 re-issues, J and friends chant for Amma and Lou’s solo album…. the Cds were ?10, Enjoy the show tonight!!
May 22, 2006 at 11:33 am #117499I told you man, just hang around and you’ll be able to meet the guys. Yeah I know what you mean about being all nervous in J’s presence, I couldn’t think of anything to say either. I still don’t remeber how we started talking about jazzmasters, glad we did though. I’m stoked for you Sam, thats awesome!
May 22, 2006 at 12:42 pm #117500I went too. It was amazing. I would have liked more songs off Bug, though. I absolutely loved Dead Meadow, too.

May 22, 2006 at 5:02 pm #117502Thanks alot for posting that, don’t know what the reviewer is talking about sayin the secord encore was pointless
The crowd around me were cheering like hell for them to come back on, the pictures are cool though
May 22, 2006 at 5:09 pm #117503I agree, cool pictures! Can you say new avatar!
