the MC5 to play london … again! :D

      KICK OUT THE JAMS (AGAIN)!

Legendary rockers THE MC5 are to play a one-off show in LONDON next year alongside sonic jazz phenomenon SUN RA ARKESTRA.

The show will take place at the Royal Festival Hall on February 25. To get tickets go to rfh.org.uk.

For the Royal Festival Hall, MC5 original members Michael Davis on bass, Wayne Kramer on guitar and Dennis Thompson on drums, vocals are provided by Lisa Kekaula of The Bellrays and Basement Jaxx fame.

Davis, Kramer and Thompson now call the band dkt/MC5 as a mark of respect to differentiate it from the original line-up, which also featured the late Rob Tyner and Fred ‘Sonic’ Smith.

The MC5 were one of the most controversial bands of the 1960s, riding a wave of notoriety after releasing their seminal debut, ‘Kick Out The Jams’. Their radical views and uncompromising revolutionary ideals meant that they briefly became the faces of a generation intent on political and social change.

Definitely recommend checking them out if you can. Caught the Bellrays couple years back, Lisa Kekaulu is a wicked singer/performer!!!

Recently obtained a copy of the MC5 documentary…very pleasing show, tons of great life footage, interviews, even the Stooges show up… 8)

Hope futurenow films & the remaining MC5 members/families can work out their issues & get this film released :!:
